As 2022 closes, all of us at WMI, our local partners in East Africa, and the

thousands of rural women and families we serve, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and contributions throughout the year.

We could not be more grateful for your confidence and trust in our community-based approach to poverty alleviation that gives village women the tools they need to start a business and stay in business. Year-after-year our extensive surveys document how well this approach works and how families are able to vastly improve household living conditions because of WMI’s loans and training. Building brick homes, adding solar power, purchasing land, acquiring livestock, improving nutrition, accessing healthcare on a regular basis, and paying secondary and university school fees - all of these dreams are being achieved because women are taking control of their financial well-being with a boost from WMI.

WMI has always been a grass-roots organization with embedded local leadership. We adjust our operations to meet the evolving challenges that rural women face in earning an income and raising their families. Your support allows WMI to be there with resources and strategies when crises arise so that women can continue to grow their enterprises and so that families can stay together. Our borrowers pass along their good fortune by sponsoring community outreach projects at every loan hub location.

We could not be more excited to continue launching new loan hubs, expanding training workshops, and establishing an agency banking center for village communities in 2023.

Your acts of kindness and generosity continue to fuel our outreach. Thank you for helping us help rural women in East Africa help themselves.

Very best wishes for a bright and healthy New Year!

Gratefully,

The WMI Board of Directors
