School Photo Retakes
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4

Photo packages will be coming home with students this afternoon, and our Retake Day is scheduled for Monday, November 4 . If your child wishes to have a new picture taken, he/she must bring back the original package to give to the photographer. This is also the opportunity for any students who were absent or missed having their pictures taken the first time around.

Unlike the photo schedule for the elementary schools, we do not bring up entire classes to have pictures taken at a specific time. Students must plan to come up themselves during study periods, lunch, or in between blocks. Our photographers will be here that day from 9:00-1:30, so there will be ample time for every student who wants a picture taken.
Thank You!!

Esperanza Ortega is a wealthy, young Mexican girl who has known nothing but a life of luxurious dresses, beautiful dolls, and her parents’ unconditional love on their ranch in Aguascalientes, Mexico. A string of devastating events turns Esperanza’s life upside down, forcing her to travel to the United States in search of a new life in the San Joaquin Valley in California.

This play is adapted by Lynne Alvarez from the book by Pam Munoz Ryan. Set in 1930 during the depression, Esperanza meets other immigrants as well as Okies from the Dustbowl. She is faced with discrimination as a Mexican in the United States. Through the love of her adopted family in her new home, Esperanza discovers her inner strength. She learns that it is possible to find happiness despite her circumstance.

Profile of the Week - Community Enrichment

We bring our parent community together to learn from experts and engage with each other through our Middle & More Coffees . WMS PTO leverages your GYC donations to fund outside speakers. Recently, we have brought you experts in technology usage, stress, communicating with your teen, body image and anger management.

Additionally, we keep our grounds beautiful with planters and landscape beds, support students in the METCO program with snacks and provide resources for the Green Team, Garden Club and Textile Recycling.
