Congratulations to the WMS MathCounts Team!

The Wayland Middle School MathCounts team placed 2nd at the regional meet, and is heading for the state meet next month. 

Team members are: Henry Han, Ayush Kumar, Alyssa Ao, Jeffrey Huang with Huaizhong Han (the parent coach). This is a subgroup of the regular math team that meets on Thursdays.
Student Newspaper - The Orange and Black

The Orange & Black is the school newspaper for the Wayland Middle School. The Newspaper Club meets every Wednesday from 1:20 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. in Room 108. In addition to a monthly print edition distributed by students, there is also an online version. For the link - Click here.

ArtsEmerson's Touring Production of Mr. Joy
Wayland High School
Wednesday, March 6, 7:30 pm    

ArtsEmerson presents Mr. Joy : The Neighborhood Tour, a series of free theatre performances of Daniel Beaty’s Mr. Joy , a play that explores issues of race and class in America to help us find our common humanity. Directed by David Dower and performed by Debra Walton, the performance at Wayland High School will be on March 6th at 7:30 pm. We welcome middle school parents to view with their kids, the production does include adult/mature content and language.

Tickets to all performances on the tour are free; however, due to limited space, advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Tickets at   artsemerson.org .
WaylandCares, Wayland Recreation and the Town Police are hosting 6th - 8th Grade Fun Night - Something for Everyone!

Valentine's Day Staff Appreciation Gift

We surprised the WMS staff with a single rose for Valentine’s Day, and a note reading, “We love you because you love our kids. Happy Valentine’s Day!”
WMS PTO Grants

Your WMS PTO Board has approved $17,000 in grant awards to WMS Staff. We are excited to fund materials to support the curriculum across all subjects, TAG activities, field trips, student clubs and the METCO program.  Click here to read more.
