Celebrating WMS Families

Dear Families,

As we celebrate Family Appreciation Week, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all our WMS families. It truly is a pleasure to have you with us and get to know you, your extended family and friends. Each of you contributes to the life of the school in unique and important ways, and we are so thankful for the connections we make with you throughout your child’s time at WMS.

This week is set aside so that we may reflect on family contributions, past and present, and it is no coincidence that it falls right around Valentine’s Day. There is no better time to celebrate how our collaboration supports the success and well-being of each and every student and show you how deeply we appreciate all that you do to make WMS a special place. The love you have for your children and your dedication to providing them with a safe, engaging place to learn each day does not go unnoticed.

We are honored to be a part of their growth and educational journey.

2025-26 Re-Enrollment Deadline - This Friday!

The countdown is on! This Friday, February 14, is the 2025-26 re-enrollment deadline.

If you’ve already completed your re-enrollment materials, THANK YOU—your prompt response helps us plan for next year, including issuing contracts to our amazing teachers on a timely basis.

As a returning WMS family, you have priority enrollment, but only if your contract and deposit are submitted by this Friday, February 14. Many of our programs and classrooms are at or near capacity this year, and we anticipate that this will be the case for 2025-26 as well. After Friday's deadline, we will begin offering any remaining spots to new applicants.

If your plans have changed and you do not plan to return, please notify admissions@wmsde.org as soon as possible, or select “Will not enroll” in your re-enrollment link.

We look forward to another incredible year with your family at WMS! Thank you for your continued trust and commitment.

Progress Reports Available Through FACTS Family Portal

We are currently in the process of uploading mid-year progress reports to the FACTS Family Portal. Some reports are already posted, and we will be adding the rest of them within the next week.

To view your student's report, log into the FACTS Family Portal and, on the left side, select "Student" and then "Portfolio." Paper copies will not be sent home this year, but the report is available for download. Please contact your child's teacher or Cristin Lettich with any questions.

Earn Co-op Hours & Support WMS During Do More 24 Delaware!

March 6-7, 2025

Do More 24 Delaware is just around the corner, and we’re excited to offer Co-op hours to families who create their own WMS fundraiser through the Do More 24 platform!

What is Do More 24?

Do More 24 Delaware is a 24-hour online fundraising event (running from 6 p.m. on March 6 to 6 p.m. on March 7) that brings together nonprofits, donors and businesses to support organizations making an impact in Delaware. The annual event encourages giving by providing matching funds, prizes and incentives to maximize donations, helping local nonprofits like WMS expand our reach and resources in just one day. Donations will go toward our 2024-25 annual fund, which supports:

Financial assistance for families.
Outdoor learning initiatives.
STEAM education and innovative technology.
Professional development for teachers.

Incentives:

Earn one co-op hour for creating a personal fundraising page and sharing it on social media to support WMS during the event. Your personal fundraising page can also be texted to friends and family! Please send a screenshot of your social post to co-op@wmsde.org to receive credit!
Earn an additional hour for every five unique donors who contribute through your page.
As a special bonus, the fundraiser who secures the highest number of donations will win a set of lowball glasses, recipes for three signature WMS-themed cocktails, and a $50 gift certificate generously provided by our friends at Swigg Real Wine Craft Beer & Spirits!

Join us on the Journey & Earn Three Hours of Co-op Credit

Whether you're a long-time Wilmington Montessori School parent or just beginning to learn about Montessori education - it is time to step out of the observation room and into the classroom!

Even if you've attended The Journey in the past, there is more to discover each year!

During this event, you will:

Personally experience the Montessori educational process and better understand the teaching methods by getting hands-on with Montessori materials.
See first-hand how WMS prepares children for success in their educational journey.
Learn how each three-year program level builds and supports your child's development from introduction through eighth grade.
Open conversations with your child about classroom activities.
Realize the positive aspects of learning and succeeding at WMS.
Be more prepared to describe the distinction of a Montessori education to friends and family.
Earn three co-op hours!

Important Note - Because of the large amount of interest in this event, advance registration is required. We limit registration to ensure that the group is small enough that all attendees can interact with materials and have their questions answered!
