As we enter February, we are happy to see COVID case numbers declining in our state; however, they remain much higher than they were before this winter surge so we will continue to take precautions to keep our families and staff safe. As always, our procedures and policies are based on guidance from the Delaware Division of Public Health.

Thank you for helping us continue to keep our community healthy by keeping your children home when they are sick, participating in weekly COVID-19 testing, adjusting drop-off/pick-up procedures, supplying well-fitting masks for your children and so much more.
Health Reminders
-
Please continue to keep your children home if they don't feel well and notify nurse@wmsde.org of any exposures.
- Take some time to check the fit of your child's masks and reinforce the importance of keeping the nose fully covered when masking.
- We have observed that many surgical masks do not fit tightly enough for many children's faces - if this is the case for your child, consider combining it with a better-fitting cloth mask or purchasing child-size KN95 masks.
- If your child is unable to wear their mask properly, they may be asked to quarantine/isolate for the full 10 days if they are exposed or test positive.
Car Line Reminders
-
Please make sure your child is masked and ready to go before pulling up to the front of the car line. If your child needs extra time to prepare to exit the vehicle, please pull out of the way and re-enter the line when they are ready to be screened.
- Assist our staff and give your child a good start to the school day by arriving during our designated drop-off times. Staff are scheduled to assist with drop-off during specific times, after which they move on to our duties throughout the school. Thank you for supporting your child and helping our school's operations by arriving at school on time!
