2023-24 Family Survey - Coming Soon

Later this week, all current WMS families will receive a brief survey to complete, reflecting on your experiences at WMS during the current school year (to date). We value your feedback as we plan for next year and beyond, and you will receive one hour of co-op per family for completing this year's survey. We look forward to receiving your responses!

Thank you to everyone who submitted your 2024-25 re-enrollment forms before our February 15 deadline! We look forward to welcoming your family back to WMS next fall!  Your prompt re-enrollment helps us plan for next school year, including offering contracts to teachers in a timely manner. We are now beginning to fill remaining spots in our programs with new students and plan our staffing for next year based on expected enrollment. If you have not yet re-enrolled, please contact admissions@wmsde.org to let us know whether or not you intend to return to WMS next fall. You can also open your child's re-enrollment link to complete enrollment or click "Will Not Enroll" in order to inform our planning for next year.

Exploring Kehinde Wiley in the Maker (STEAM) Studio

Earlier this month in the Maker Studio, students in the Toddler Program explored the vibrant world of artist Kehinde Wiley. Paula began by sharing some of Wiley's art with the children. The toddlers were quick to point out the bright colors and intricate patterns that define Wiley's signature style. The children then had the opportunity to create their own art and explore the medium of photography. Using iPads, they took turns capturing each other's expressions against backdrops inspired by Wiley's style of portraiture. As they engaged in this project and viewed their work, the children not only learned about art and photography but also discovered a deeper connection to their own identities.

Service Learning in Action: Spreading the Love the Food Bank

The students in the 9-12 and Middle School programs spread lots of love this Valentine's Day! As part of their ongoing service learning work focused on food and water insecurity, they visited the Food Bank of Delaware last Wednesday. During the trip, they packed 770 bags of food for children in our local Delaware community. It was a great opportunity for them to give back and learn about the significance of community service. The students demonstrated remarkable teamwork and leadership skills as they tackled this important task together!
