We’re so glad to see our students and families enjoying time on campus after school hours! To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, we’d like to share a few friendly reminders:

• While our staff care for your children throughout the school day, once you have picked up your child from their classroom, they are under your care and must be supervised at all times (both indoors and outdoors).
• Running is only allowed in the gym. Please remind your child to walk while indoors.
• Use “indoor voices” when inside, especially in spaces where staff are still working or students are participating in after-school programs.
• For safety reasons, children should never leave the building without an adult. Please keep your children with you when in the hallways.
• When the weather is good, outdoor play areas are a great place to unwind! While outside, children must be supervised by an adult at all times. If a child needs to go back inside the school, an adult must accompany them.
• When playing outdoors, students are expected to follow the same rules they do during the school day—this includes wearing a helmet if sledding on our campus.

Spirit Week 2025 - Week of January 27

Celebrate WMS's 61st birthday with a week of fun dress-up opportunities selected by the 9-12 and Middle School classes! All age levels (and staff) are encouraged to participate.

Mix Up Your Mane Monday - Fix your hair in any way you choose!

Tuesday

Dress-up Day - Wear your favorite costume or fancy dress-up clothes!

Wednesday

Friends in Fashion - Form a group and dress the same or wear the same colors!

Thursday

WMS Spirit Day - Wear WMS colors (blue, white and gold) or WMS/Camp Montessori clothing!

Friday

Teacher/Student Swap - Students dress like a teacher and teachers dress like students!

Whether you're a long-time Wilmington Montessori School parent or just beginning to learn about Montessori education - it is time to step out of the observation room and into the classroom!

Even if you've attended The Journey in the past, there is more to discover each year!

During this event, you will:

• Personally experience the Montessori educational process and better understand the teaching methods by getting hands-on with Montessori materials.
• See first-hand how WMS prepares children for success in their educational journey.
• Learn how each three-year program level builds and supports your child's development from introduction through eighth grade.
• Open conversations with your child about classroom activities.
• Realize the positive aspects of learning and succeeding at WMS.
• Be more prepared to describe the distinction of a Montessori education to friends and family.
• Earn 3 co-op hours!

Important Note - Because of the large amount of interest in this event, advance registration is required. We limit registration to ensure that the group is small enough that all attendees can interact with materials and have their questions answered!
