Celebrating WMS Teachers
As a parent, I cannot say enough about the amazing educators who worked on behalf of my children. I entrusted them to teachers who I knew little, if anything, about. I hoped that they would get to know them as individuals, respond in similar ways that I did to challenges, and inspire them as learners. It was a lot to ask of their teachers, and mostly, they delivered. They took the time to build relationships, a necessary foundation of all learning. I was grateful to each and every one of them and still am to this day.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. A week is not nearly enough time to thank teachers for all they do on behalf of students, families and schools. WMS teachers are dedicated educators. They spend time getting to know each student, crafting lessons to motivate them as learners, meeting students where they are and adapting lessons to meet their changing needs. This is the WMS difference. Our teachers pride themselves on their connections with the students and families they serve. It is a true collaboration.
Like me, you probably have a teacher or two in your life that you recall with fondness. It may be the person who inspired you, pushed you to be your best, or listened when you needed a supportive ear. This week, take a moment to thank them.
Teaching is work of the heart, the mind and the spirit. Thank you for supporting our teachers and working alongside them as they engage your children in their individual pursuit of lifelong learning. We appreciate it.
