Planning for Future Success: The Work of the WMS Board
Can you believe it is already mid-May? Where has the school year gone? Every day, we count on the predictability and rhythm of the school day, week and year. Children know what to expect. Parents understand the way school works. Staff are on it, setting up, cleaning up, and preparing each and every lesson and bit of learning the children in their care will experience. We’ve got this! What we don’t always see is what happens to make all of this happen with predictability and reliability. That is the work of our staff, administrators and teachers as well as the WMS Board of Directors.
Each month, the WMS Board of Directors, made up of former and current WMS parents, meets to do the work that keeps the school forward thinking and helps address the questions and concerns that arise in the course of daily operations. This group’s work is one of dedication and passion for the school they have come to know and appreciate during their time here. They are currently looking ahead, preparing to welcome our new Head of School, Sarah Williams, and consider how they can best support her as she continues to bring her knowledge, energy and passion for Montessori education to WMS. Their work this spring will culminate in presenting a plan for our future when the 2024-25 school year begins. As you enjoy the warmer days ahead, make plans for a summer break, and think about how your child has grown, we will be working on a plan for the future of WMS. All are predicated on the belief that WMS is the premier Montessori school in Delaware, founded on Montessori principles, and rooted in current research in child development, high academic standards of learning and cognitive neuroscience. WMS is where your children are known, affirmed and prepared for their future.
Thank you to the WMS Board of Directors and all who support the work they do behind the scenes.
