Flower Science
Kira Stauffer, Lead Toddler Teacher
This spring, our toddlers are exploring gardening and plants. First, we discussed what plants need to grow - sunlight and water. This led us to a fun science experiment! We placed flowers in clear water and talked about the color of the petals (white). After that, we thought about what might happen if we added color to the water. We added food coloring and, throughout the week, the children observed the colors of the petals as they changed. The children loved watching the flowers "drinking" water as the colors traveled up the stem and into the petals!
