Full School Year Calendar

What are your reasons?

I love lists. If I am scrolling through my email and see a blog or article that includes lists, I’m in. Lists are appealing because they imply brevity. They make me think I’m going to learn something quickly and maybe one thing from the list will cause me to search a bit more deeply. They get to the heart of the matter. The theme to this year’s annual fund inspires us to create our list of “60 Reasons.”

The Huntoon family shared a wonderful letter with WMS families last week that outlined some of their reasons for being at WMS as well as the importance of the annual fund drive. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, we hope you’ll find time to do so as you consider your gift to this yearly fundraising drive. What are your reasons for being at WMS? You may not be able to think of 60, but I’m guessing that we each have more than a few reasons about why we value being a part of this community.

Everyone has experiences with school, as a student, a parent, or an educator. The reasons we choose to be at this school are what distinguishes a WMS education from one elsewhere. WMS stands apart as a school that strives to identify the individual developmental needs of each student, adapt instruction for them and provide just the right amount of difficulty to inspire them as learners, engaging their curiosity and wonder. That is something that can’t be easily found at other schools.

We hope that you will take a moment during this week’s annual fund drive to pause and consider your reasons for choosing WMS. Please stop in the lobby to see others’ reasons and share one or two of your own!

NEWS & NOTES

Annual Fund Drive Update - Donate by Friday to be eligible for prizes!

We are halfway through our 2023-24 #WMS60Reasons Annual Fund Drive, and we want to thank everyone everyone who has participated so far - we have raised more than $22,000 toward our $90,000 goal!

Every gift matters as we work together to support our students and staff, providing an exceptional education to students from 12 months old all the way through Middle School.

Our goal is 100% participation! No matter the size of your gift, its value will be multiplied when we approach foundations for larger grants - high levels of participation are viewed as evidence of the strength and commitment of our school community.

Why give this week? During our Annual Fund Drive Week, we are offering some special prizes to donors.

  • Make a gift of $5 or more to be one of the first to receive a car magnet with the new WMS logo!
  • Make a gift of $10 or more and your child will have the opportunity to punch a cup in the lobby after school and win prizes and WMS swag!
  • Make a gift of $100 and create a social media post using the hashtag #WMS60reasons for a chance to win a WMS swag bag including spirit wear and more!
  • Donate $1,000 or more to enter our raffle for your very own reserved WMS parking space in a prime location in front of the school to use for the rest of the school year!
