Culture of Connection:

Building a Brighter Future Together

The importance of community, connection and belonging cannot be overstated. This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting a party at the Cauffiel Estate to celebrate WMS’s 60th anniversary, reuniting many former WMS families, students and staff and connecting them with the current families and staff members who were able to attend. It was a wonderful reunion for many and a great way to get to know one another outside of WMS’s walls.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the event’s success. Your enthusiasm and support make our school community stronger and help us create the kind of supportive environment in which students thrive.

In addition to celebrating the last 60 years, we introduced WMS’s revised vision statement and announced the Illuminate the Future Fund. Together, we raised more than $37,900! Every dollar raised will go toward essential classroom upgrades, resources that increase access to supports that benefit families and students, along with high-quality professional development opportunities for educators. This fund ensures that we are providing the best possible educational experiences in an authentic Montessori setting. The future of education is bright at WMS, and with your support, we can ensure that every child here flourishes. Thank you for being an essential part of WMS’s 60 trips around the sun!

Best regards,

Sarah E. Williams

Virtual Lunch & Learn Sessions for Families of Rising Kindergartners

(Second-year Primary students who will be 5 by August 31, 2025)

Wednesday, November 6 at 9:30 a.m. OR noon on Zoom

Join us virtually on Wednesday, November 6, to explore the next step for your child at WMS as a kindergartner in the Primary (3-6) Program. We will describe a typical day and share curriculum highlights unique to the kindergarten year at WMS.

Discover the many academic, social and emotional benefits of WMS’s Montessori Kindergarten program — also known as the "leadership year" — and learn how it compares to other classroom settings. We'll also discuss what differentiates the learning experience from the first two years in the Primary Program.

There will be plenty of time for live Q&A!

All attendees will receive one Co-op hour!

Please RSVP via Bloomz!

Halloween Costume Guidelines

Parade at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 31

We look forward to gathering as a community for our annual Halloween parade on Thursday, October 31 at 9:30 a.m. In order to make the day fun for all of our students, we ask that children's costumes meet the following guidelines:

  • No weapons of any kind are allowed as part of a costume.
  • Costumes may not depict blood, guts or gore.
  • Costumes may not depict stereotypes of any group or culture.
  • Because WMS's youngest students will be present at school that day, costumes must not be frightening to small children.
  • Hair color and makeup should be applied at home and not brought to school.
  • Students should arrive at school in costume.
  • If you have any questions about appropriate costume choices, please let us know. Your child will change out of their costumes after the parade, so please send in a regular set of clothes for your child to wear afterward.
