Dear WMS Families & Friends,

We hope you have seen the recent announcements for the upcoming WMS 60th Anniversary Celebration, and we’re excited about celebrating the school’s 60 Trips Around the Sun with you on October 26, 2024. We are extremely grateful for the community that we have found at WMS, and the excellent education, support and care that our kids Alice (Room 19) and Logan (Room 4) are receiving here.

The 60 Trips Around the Sun celebration is a chance for all of us to connect and reconnect, both with each other as current parents, and with alumni parents and staff. We’re definitely looking forward to an evening of fun with other grown-ups! Engaging with alumni parents will also allow us to gain a perspective on past WMS experiences and bridge our current community to the past, present and future of WMS. As we connect with each other, we will thank our former heads of school and ring in the newest era led by our new Head of School Sarah Williams.

Tickets are on sale now for this extraordinary event, at www.wmsde.org/60years. Tickets are limited and must be purchased before the event, so please get yours before they sell out. Along with dinner, drinks and dancing, we will have a few exclusive experiential items up for auction that promise unforgettable memories. In particular, all current parents who attend the event will be entered into a random drawing to win one free week of Camp Montessori!

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. We currently have a table set up in the school lobby where you can learn more and meet with members of the planning committee at drop-off and pick-up times today through Friday. Each household that visits the Celebration Table will have the opportunity to win two free tickets to the event!

Extended Program Day News

Information from the Business Office

Now that the school year is well under way, you may begin seeing charges on your FACTS account for drop-ins for Extended Day child-care or School's Out days. These charges are incurred if your child uses our Extended Day Program and is not already enrolled in Extended Day for the school year.

If your account is charged and you believe this is in error, please reach out to the Business Office at 302-475-0555, and we can help you with a resolution.

PLEASE NOTE - After-care for Primary students is full and we cannot accommodate any drop-ins for this age group. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Virtual Lunch & Learn Sessions for Families of Rising First & Fourth-Graders

Wednesday, October 23 at Noon on Zoom

Families of current kindergartners and third-graders are invited to learn about your child's next step at WMS. We will describe a typical day and share curriculum highlights unique to the 6-9 and 9-12 programs. Learn about the benefits of WMS's elementary Montessori programs as compared to more traditional classroom settings, as well as what differentiates the learning experience from their current grade level. There will be plenty of time for live Q&A! All attendees will earn one hour of Co-op time for attending.
