Move-in Information

Move-in is two weeks away. Here are reminders for a hassle-free move-in experience.

Move-in Schedule - Full details
  • First-year students - move in Aug. 29 or 30 depending on last name and if your student is a part of an early arrival program
  • Returning students - move in Sept. 1, starting 9 a.m. EST
  • Transfer students - move in Sept. 1, starting 9 a.m. EST unless participating in Fall Welcome (move in Aug. 30, 9 a.m. to noon)
  • International students - new international students move in Aug. 27; returning international students move in Sept. 1, starting 9 a.m. EST
Move-in Directions

Several roads change to one-way roads during move-in. Download the map and directions specific for your student's hall here. The map will show you where to unload at each hall as well as give advice on the best way to avoid congestion of driving through busy areas of campus.

What to Expect
  • Cars will unload at the front of the hall and then move to park for the day while students check in. We'll have a handful of carts at each hall to help with move-in, but please bring your own dolly if you have one.
  • In the check-in room, your student will need the room number and building name.
  • Check-in will consist of several stations, such as receiving the room key and student policies, and completing paperwork such as an emergency contact card. This includes a health insurance policy number, so please remind your student to bring the appropriate information.
  • An important part of check-in will be the Room Inventory. Students take this to their room and make notes regarding any damages or wear and tear seen in the room. When students check out in April, this form will be used to compare the condition of the room to August, before they moved in.
If you are moving your new student in on Aug. 29 or Aug. 30, don't forget to stop by the Family Lounge in the Bernhard Center between noon and 4 p.m. for refreshments and to write your student a note of encouragement. Today is the last day to RSVP for the care package registration.
