Answer the May  Question of the Month
regarding your experience with Family Engagement.

Family Engagement Staff Change
Dear Families,

It has been my honor to serve and support you over the past 13 years in the college journey with your students. With mixed emotions, I am retiring from WMU at the end of the month after 25+ years of service to the University. I have learned so much from every family I've worked with and sharing you and your students' accomplishments, joys and sorrows has been personally meaningful and fulfilling.

You will continue to be in capable and caring hands as Michelle Adams assumes responsibility for Family Engagement with Bretney Waller as her right-hand person. It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Michelle and welcome her into this new role.

Michelle Adams
Michelle joins the Office of Family Engagement as the Family Engagement Liaison. She has worked at WMU for three years, working in both the School of Social Work and the Division of Student Affairs. Michelle's educational and professional background in social work prepared her well for working with students and families. She has assisted students with field placements, provides support and assistance to current and prospective students and serves as a resource and referral source for both students and families. She enjoys being part of the welcoming, supportive atmosphere in Student Affairs, and values each interaction with WMU students and families.

Michelle is the proud parent of a college graduate, a current college student, and both a high school and middle school student. She has weathered the highs and lows of sending a child off to college, continuously works to strike a balance between fostering independence and taking charge...and has piles of photographs to cherish those little moments long after her children have grown.
