Kirsty Leedham is excited to join West Nottingham serving as Athletic Director for the 2022-23 school year. Her presence has already had a positive impact on the WNA community.
" I am excited at the direction in which our athletics programs are heading. In just the past year we have made great strides by bringing back boys lacrosse, boys and girls wrestling and baseball, with plans to reintroduce the girls lacrosse, and softball programs this upcoming spring. We want to provide the opportunity for students to be able to excel in their passion so we have made some slight changes within athletics that we believe is only setting our students up to succeed. Some of these changes include updating our weight room facilities, relocating the wrestling room, live streaming of sporting events accessible to all, and as previously mentioned, reintroducing sports to our offerings."
Having attended a boarding school herself as an international student, Kirsty brings a lot of prep school experience. Kirsty has held many roles within the schools she has worked, including most recently the Director of Recreation, Residential Weekend Coordinator, and lead Business Teacher at a New England boarding school. During this time, she also spearheaded a program that supported students in pursuing their athletic goals of competing at the collegiate level.
In addition to her work within independent schools, Leedham spent some time coaching Division I basketball at Binghamton University.
Some of the areas in which Kirsty prides herself in are mentorship, growth, and equity, and she is looking forwarded to joining the WNA community, where she will be living on campus with her family.
