Greetings,

The purpose of WNA Today is to share updates and highlights about what is happening on campus with all of you. As the faculty and staff did the hard work of rethinking the educational program last year, one idea we loved was having you receive this kind of news and updates directly from the students. Part of our new academic program focuses on learning about journalism across all grade levels, and student ownership of WNA Today landed as part of the junior curriculum. In this issue and in the ones that will follow, you will hear about what is happening on campus through the eyes of these students. 

One of the tenets of our new program is that we learn best by doing, and WNA Today provides the perfect opportunity for this type of experience. As with any new program, there will be some adjustments as the students learn the skills to communicate well, but if you are like me, I think you will enjoy watching their journey over the course of the year. What they may lack initially in polished style will be made up for through the natural exuberance of youth, and hopefully will help transport you back to the time when you were in their shoes seeing and doing all these great things for the first time. I hope you appreciate the growth they will show in each successive issue.

Homecoming 2022 In the Books!

Thank you to all who came "home" to West Nottingham for Homecoming on October 21-22! The weather was perfect, the WNA teams put on a great show, and the day was filled with hugs and laughter! I was thrilled to meet some alums from the 80s, 70s and earlier for the first time and to welcome back those who were also able to attend last year. The class of 2022 was well represented as was the class of 1958! Stay in close contact with each other and with West Nottingham!

This past spring, Bill LaVan ’97 and Matt Pestronk ’96 announced their commitment to West Nottingham Academy by launching a $1,000,000 matching gift challenge! Since the launch of the Million Reasons to Give Campaign, friends and alums have generously given over $520,000 in gifts! We want to thank those who have already made an impactful gift towards the match. Given this incredible opportunity, we humbly ask that you consider making a first gift or another gift. This is a historic opportunity for our school and community; we are grateful for your support along our transformational journey. Our goal is to unlock the match by the end of 2022!
