Organic Dairy Farmer Feedback Survey Results and Next Steps

In 2024, the Western Organic Dairy Producers Alliance (WODPA) and NODPA worked together to publish and distribute a producer’s survey in response to frustrations communicated to us within the industry regarding changes in inspections, the amount of information required and dramatic increases in the cost. The goal of this survey was to collect information and feedback regarding the newly implemented Strengthening Organic Enforcement (SOE) Rule and the Origin of Livestock (OOL) Rule and present it to the National Organic Program.

NODPA & WODPA’s shared statement on organic exemption from paying into the FMMO

NODPA & WODPA unite under a common goal of advocating for organic dairy producers while protecting the integrity of the USDA organic seal. We believe that resources derived from organic dairy should stay in the organic dairy ecosystem. We believe this is possible through an organic dairy exemption of the FMMO but there is still a need for organic producers to be protected.
