The WOMA Convention Saturday night festivities include awards, prizes and an auction to benefit the Washington Osteopathic Foundation.  This is always an enjoyable event, full of laughs and good times, to benefit osteopathic education in Washington.  Items are need for the live and silent auctions.  If you have sports or event tickets, a weekend cabin retreat, a theme basket, artwork, jewelry, a unique experience or hand-made items you are willing to donate as a tax-deductible contribution, contact Kathie Itter at 206-937-5358 or email

  Governor Seeks Applicants
Governor Jay Inslee is accepting applications for appointment to the Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. One term being vacated in May will expire in July 2019.   If HB 4132 is signed into law, two more DOs will need to be appointed to the Board.  The current Board is made of six DOS and one public member appointed by the Governor. With the passage of HB 1431 two DOs, an osteopathic Physician Assistant and a second public member will be added.  Because of WOMA’s efforts, the bill also provides for an upgrade from a Class 3 to a Class 5 Board, increasing compensation from $50 to $250 a day, equivalent to what the MDs are paid. Physician members must have been in active practice for at least five years immediately preceding appointment. All members must be citizens of the United States and residents of Washington State. Interested, eligible DOs are encouraged to submit an application now. For more information and an application go to
