Why is our Discipleship Program so important? As your pastor, it has always been important for me to see God’s people always growing in their faith and service to God. I can only imagine the impact our church would have if every member was growing daily in their relationship with Jesus Christ, while joyfully serving in their unique ministry and encouraging others to come and find their own place in the family of God! Helping every member reach that level has been my life’s mission. That is why I am so passionate about our CLASS series.
I want to pastor a church where people are growing, and serving, and loving one another every day that we live, and we are well on our way! Since this program has started I have helped so many of our members to understand their place in God’s family, the necessary activities to grow as a disciple of Christ, to understand how God has uniquely SHAPEd them for serving, and encouraged them to share their personal stories so that others may start a relationship with Jesus for themselves. We have come a long way, but we are still on a journey.
Many of you have gotten started with the CLASSes, but have gotten stuck. Some have attended CLASS 301 and haven’t met with me to talk about your SHAPE profile. Some have taken CLASS 401 and haven’t shared your stories with me. (By the way, that’s why those CLASSes are shaded in yellow on the master sheet.) These things aren’t meant to be burdensome, but to help guide you to become all that God wants you to be!
So get started, or keep going! Let me help you, because I believe God has some amazing things in store us as we continue this journey TOGETHER. Let me know if you have any questions, and never forget how much I love you and am praying for all of you!!

Everyone is welcome to join us at the Pizza Villa Restaurant in Land O Lakes the second Saturday of each month. We can't wait to see you all there!

This class will be from 1:00 to 3:00 for 13 weeks. They are stand alone sessions so you can jump in at any time. Each member will receive a workbook and we will watch a video each week as part of the class.
Brochures are on a table in the hallway and there will be cards to pass to friends, family or neighbors. If you think someone might benefit from this class, invite them to come. If you want to attend, but the time is not good for you, let Pastor Gary know and he will see what we can do ([email protected]). We can provide help with the cost of the book if you need help. Volunteer at Christian Social Services |

Christian Social Services Thrift Store and food pantry are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. They are now able to accept food and other donations. Donors need to call CSS first at 813-995-0088 and check with Tina to be sure the items can be received.
Harvester Helpers can volunteer the last Saturday of each month from 10am to 12pm. No experience needed, just show up!

We are studying A guide To James, "Growing In The Christian Life." Larry Young will facilitate the class.

Hello Harvester! HUGE shout-out to those who came to the sorting party this past Sunday. It was an overwhelming success and everyone worked so hard to sort, count, assemble and store away our supplies. And many thanks to Mary Lou Bartlett for providing the pizza!
As promised, I'm highlighting items we need to reach our target of 90 boxes. We have a very large Amazon order coming in from one of our awesome Harvester members which will complete many of the shortages we had after the party. We also received cash donations to help with the shortages and I've already ordered the rest of the pencil sharpeners we needed. But we are still in need of at least 75 wooden rulers, 6 more 3-pack Singer sewing kits and 4 more Singer threaded bobbin sets. I marked each of these items as a "high" priority on our Amazon list and they should be listed at the top.
If you're not an Amazon-er or are still hesitant to go shopping, please let me know and I'd be happy to do so for you. Just send me an email at [email protected] or text to 813-598-1783 and we can work out the details.
June's collection items are "Toys." Just about anything goes except for war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures or camouflage items that can be worn and make a child look like a soldier. Colorful water pistols are acceptable however (see Amazon list). Liquid-filled balls are on the "don't pack" list because they can break open and ruin the rest of the items in the box, but rubber bouncy balls are great.
July's collection is for "Clothing Items." My family always tries to add a t-shirt to our boxes and I found a deal at Wal-Mart for $1.00 each a few months ago but could only get 14 shirts. For our target 10-14 age group, Adult-sized Small and Medium shirts are probably best. As my grandmother always said, "What will hold more will hold less." Hobby Lobby's regular price for shirts is $2.99 and they're very high-quality Gildan. Michael's has Gildan shirts as well for $3.99, and there is currently 20% off if you use "20madebyyou" at checkout; this makes them about $3.19 each. I also added a 10-pak to our Amazon list which works out to right around $3.00 per shirt.
The Spare Change for Children collection bottles have been returning every week and are a great way to collect for the $9 handling charge for each box. Please consider picking one up, filling it with spare change, and bringing it back when you can. When you bring it back, either put them on the back counter in the church office or in the plastic OCC shoebox on our table in the hallway as I check that each and every Sunday.

Church Historian Needed at Harvester |

Are you organized and creative, interested in our church's history, have the ability to gather information from various resources and have a servant heart? Then Church Historian could be the position for you!
We are seeking a volunteer to help to continue to maintain our church records by documenting, collecting and preserving materials from our activities, events, milestones and anniversaries! Much of the information is already provided to you through our weekly email newsletter the WOW and bulletin.
