"We Made A Difference!"
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 1

From The Pastor
A Special Celebration!
This Sunday we will have only ONE service at 10am as we celebrate all that God has been doing in the lives of our young people this week! A powerful group of volunteers have been tirelessly working to create an amazing space for our children to enjoy this year’s Vacation Bible School. So this will be a special worship service as our children share with us some of what they have learned throughout this week. I will also conclude our series, “Together...,” as we delight in how God continues to use us to make a difference for His glory!! I hope you will make every effort to attend this Sunday as we join with these children and their parents to worship what our Savior has been doing! And please remember how much I love and pray for all of you!!

For those who use the Push Pay App, you will now need to call the toll free number (833) 398-2468 instead of texting 77977. Major wireless carriers are no longer supporting these short codes. Those of you who already registered your account for Text Giving using 77977 will not need to re-register with Harvester's new toll-free number (833) 398-2468.
From Pastor Gary

Monday kicked off our VBS in an unusual way. Sometime after 8:00 a.m., Sheila received a call from Sugar and Spice stating that none of the 35 children they were going to bring would be attending day one. What a surprise that was! We were geared up for 50 kids and now had only 15 from Harvester. The first line of my devotion on Monday read like this, "When facing impossible situations, I sometimes pray, Father, accomplish Your purposes in a way that leaves onlookers dumbfounded." What a great way of thinking about God's purpose in the situations he puts us in.

This week, we had a little girl tell her group leader, "Wow, this is the first time I have ever been in a church!" Harvester, we prayed that God would use us this week to affect the lives of 50 children and I pray this little girl had so much fun, she will want to go to church over and over. Another girl from Sugar and Spice said to me on Wednesday, "I had the best time today." God is blessing us over and over and He is using us to bless these little ones! Thank you, Lord Jesus, for allowing us the chance to change lives with the stories of your Word. Be with us the remainder of the week.

We had A/C problems on Monday and Tuesday and things got fixed on Tuesday afternoon. It was so cold in the sanctuary on Wednesday, it was snowing! If you don't believe me ask the kids!

Go and Make Disciples!

Peace,
Pastor Gary

Press Play: Get in the Mix
Confidence is learning to see yourself the way God sees you.

The real enemy is one we can’t see. Ask God to remind you that He has given you everything you need to stand strong. Share a tough situation you are facing now. Pray that God will help you give grace to the people you meet each day as you stand strong against the real enemy, using the truths you’ve discovered in God’s Word.

Take time as a family to memorize scripture: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6, NIV Remember to post a video of your child sharing their scripture reading on the Harvester Family Facebook Page.

Thanks for you continued support!
Hello Harvester!  More Spare Change bottles this week with more than $50 inside puts us over our $810 goal for shipping! But please don't stop dropping that change into the bottles and bringing them in when they're full as every additional $9 we collect is another box that can bring a child closer to Jesus!  The collection bottles will be back on our table in the main hallway after VBS is over.  When you bring back your filled bottles, just hand them to me on Sunday morning or leave them in the plastic shoebox on the table, or you could leave it on the back counter in the church office.

Going along with the idea that we'll probably pack more than 90 boxes at our party, Mom and I used the rest of the "pencil pack supplies" to fill more and we now have about 97 full packs. We ran short of lip balm, pencil sharpeners, and pens, so I've added those to our Amazon wish list as high priority items. Both 60- and 144-count boxes of pens have been added since they're both on sale and calculate out to be less than 10 cents per pen. The price was lower earlier this week (less than 9 cents), so I hope some of you can jump on these discounted pens before the price goes up further!

We received more than 40 t-shirts in the last week!  For our target 10-14 age group, Adult-sized Small and Medium shirts are probably best, although Youth XL are pretty close to the Adult Small. Hobby Lobby's regular price for shirts is $2.99 and they're very high-quality Gildan. There's a 10-pak on our Amazon list which works out to about $3.00 per shirt; colors aren't critical and the price varies a bit between colors. Buying the 10-pack on your own is a bit pricey, so I'd be happy to collect a few dollars from you if you want to go in with other Harvester folks on this deal. Let me know if this is an option and I'll make it happen.

Here's the link to our OCC List on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2MJIXAPCEKFDL?ref_=wl_share

If you're not an Amazon-er or are still hesitant to go shopping, please let me know and I'd be happy to do so for you. Just send me an email at [email protected] or text to 813-598-1783 and we can work out the details.

It should be no surprise that the items for August are school supplies. Our pencil paks are in good shape as mentioned above. Wal-Mart has the Cra-Z-Art 12-pack of colored pencils for only 50 cents each. If you happen to be in Wal-Mart, please pick up a couple of packs for the shoeboxes. We have 40 so far!
Ushers & Greeters Needed
Volunteers are needed at the 11am service on Sunday mornings.

If you are interested in serving, contact Gail Herrin at 813-909-7644 or [email protected]
Thank you for your faithful giving!
