WOW.

Thank you for your generous outpouring of support for our RE-Humanization Project collections of supplies to love our neighbors as ourselves. The food, supplies, and monetary donations are humbling and we are so grateful.

We will continue to collect the items listed below, so feel free to keep bringing things. We will assure every ounce of it gets to those who need it.

I want to follow up too, on a particular ask, from the Annual Meeting, to see about the development of our Hospitality Team. I had a couple folks let me know they're in - thank you! I'm looking for a group of 6-8 people and here's what it will look like:

At funerals, weddings, and special events, the Hospitality Team will be there a bit early to put the coffee on, put out snacks, make sure the setup is as needed.

As people are arriving, they are way finders for people, and will also troubleshoot in real time: make extra copies or open the top of the parking ramp, help host a reception if there is one, make sure people are greeted warmly, and their questions are answered.

And the team will help with wrap up: thank people for coming, rinse out coffee urns, tidy up, help close up the event.

It will be a group made up of "jacks/jills of all trades" who can assist in lots of little things and be able to notice and engage problems and tasks in an independent fashion. With a team of 6-8 folks, we'd have basically 2 teams of 3-4, so no one gets burned out.

Gracias por su generoso apoyo a nuestras colectas del Proyecto RE-Humanización para amar a nuestros vecinos como a nosotros mismos. Los alimentos, los suministros y las donaciones monetarias nos llenan de humildad y estamos muy agradecidos.

Seguiremos recogiendo los artículos que se enumeran a continuación, así que no duden en seguir trayendo cosas. Nos aseguraremos de que todo llegue a quienes lo necesitan.

También quiero dar seguimiento a una petición concreta de la Reunión Anual para ver cómo avanza nuestro Equipo de Hospitalidad. Un par de personas me han dicho que se apuntan, ¡gracias! Busco un grupo de entre 6 y 8 personas y esto es lo que haremos:

En funerales, bodas y eventos especiales, el equipo de hospitalidad llegará un poco antes para preparar el café, servir aperitivos y asegurarse de que todo esté listo según lo necesario. 

A medida que llegan los invitados, les orientarán y resolverán cualquier problema que surja en tiempo real: harán copias adicionales o abrirán la rampa del estacionamiento, ayudarán a organizar la recepción, si la hay, se asegurarán de que se reciba a los invitados con cordialidad y responderán a sus preguntas. 

Además, el equipo ayudará con el cierre: agradecer a la gente por venir, lavará las cafeteras, recogerá y ayudará a cerrar el evento. 

Será un grupo formado por personas «aprendices de todo» que puedan ayudar en muchas pequeñas cosas y sean capaces de detectar y abordar problemas y tareas de forma independiente. Con un equipo de 6-8 personas, tendríamos básicamente 2 equipos de 3-4, para que nadie se agote. 

Si este tipo de ministerio de ayuda te interesa, ¡házmelo saber! Como siempre, muchas manos aligeran el trabajo y necesitamos voluntarios para ofrecer y presentar la catedral de la mejor manera posible, ya que contamos con menos personal que en el pasado. ¡Envíame un correo electrónico si puedes participar!
