From The Pastor
Some Positive Feedback!
After many months of rising to the District's challenge for Harvester, we have begun to hear some great feedback. As demanding as the challenges have been, I am excited that Harvester has met, and even exceeded the goals set for us! Our Council Chair, Skip Henk, has been sending in updates to the District about our progress, and I wanted to share a couple of their responses.
Beth Potter, who is responsible for the Gulf Central District's Congregational Vitality, shared after our six-month report:
"Thanks for the update, Skip and company. Sounds like there is a lot happening and some fruits for your labor. Love that you are doing "follow-up" for folks asking for more information. That is so critical and often neglected. Bravo. Are you seeing any trends with what you are doing-some events getting more "traction?" We know that to bring a non-believer to Christ often takes as many as 30 "touch points"....Harvester is doing great in reaching into the community. Keep up the great work for God! Know that we are here as a support and resource if needed."
And then from our District Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Candace M. Lewis, when she was informed that we recently hired a new Children's Director and Youth Director:
"This is great news to hear that this milestone was reached!!! We look forward to hearing how the District can partner with your new staff and get them connected with other Youth and Children's leaders in our District."
As your pastor I want to thank all of you for your constant prayers, generous giving, and ongoing efforts to the ministries and family that make Harvester who we are! May we continue to exceed all expectations as we reach our community and world for the sake of Jesus Christ! Remember that I love and pray for you!!

From Pastor Gary
As we get back in the groove of school starting again, we will take time this Sunday to pray for our schools, our students, our administrators, teachers and our Harvester Sunday School teachers. In the midst of more shootings in our country this past week, we will pray for their safety and that they can just go to school and enjoy life like we did when we were kids.
As I listened to the announcers on the JoyFM this week reliving the shootings of last week, they made the statement that the way to change all of this was to begin changing hearts. One heart at a time being changed for Jesus sounds perfect to me. Lord help this world to be a better place. Use us to help it happen in any way you need us. Amen
Did you know that the average parent has less than 1,000 weeks from the time their child is born until they move out? That means for those of us that serve in children's ministry we have less than 600 Sundays to share the love of Christ with our students before they're promoted.
, next Sunday will be promotion Sunday for our children's ministry. An informational email will be sent about your child's classroom and new check-in system.
Harvester Family, please join us on Sunday to pray over our Sunday school and classroom teachers, students, staff and administrators as they begin their new school year. We will be praying during both services on Sunday.
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

Roof Campaign Update
from Debbi Isom
We are at the halfway mark for the roof campaign. Our goal is to raise $23,000 over 3 years to pay for a new roof on the original building. $52 per year or $1 per Sunday each year per member will reach the goal. Thanks be to God we met the goal the first year! The year to date total is $3,782.90 which means we are close to halfway to our goal of $7,700 for this year. Thanks to everyone who has given thus far. We are hopeful we will meet our goal again this year.
Thank you to this weeks Ground Hogs Tom Herrin, Simon FitzPatrick, Elvis Goddard and Keith Swan for keeping the grounds mowed and looking beautiful. The weather has been hot and rainy and we appreciate all of you!
Thank you to George Alexander and Lloyd Evans for helping with various work projects around the church and grounds. We appreciate all you do!
Thank you to everyone helping in the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings! We appreciate you making coffee, setting up snacks and cleaning up after the 11am worship! You are all wonderful servants.
