From The Pastor
We're off and running!
I have been very excited about the way so many of you have embraced our church's challenge for this new year! My first CLASS 101 had 14 in attendance, Pastor Gary's Wednesday Night Prayer Group had 21 people united in fervent prayer, and so many of you have already signed up for our Gulf Central District's upcoming Learning Event! I have also noticed a renewed sense of unity and a growing belief that we want to be a part of what God is doing at Harvester! As I have said many times before, I am so proud to be one of your pastors!
By the way, another CLASS 101 will be offered on Saturday, January 19 at 10am, and CLASS 201 will be offered on Saturday, January 26 at 10am. There will be other offerings for all four Discipleship Classes, so keep watching for your opportunity to take one, or all of these classes! If you would like to attend one of these, let me know the best time to schedule a class for you. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As for the upcoming Learning Event, you will find more information below and exactly how to join with many of your Harvester family as we learn new ideas for reaching our community for Jesus Christ!
Thank you for all your prayers, encouragement and energy. I am so looking forward to seeing how God will continue to use us! Please remember that I love and pray for each of you!!

From Pastor Gary
Well it was good to know that my sermon brought out some positive responses this past weekend. As people were leaving, between 25-30 committed to me that they would be attending the district class on February 16th. Remember we need 30 to meet the district challenge.
60 would be great!
We held our Prayer for Harvester meeting last night and had 21 people show up to pray for our church, its leaders and the surrounding community. Thank you God for leading us to pray for our wonderful church, all who attend here and for those that we will get to attend here.
The new year brings with it new hope! I am praying for great things with our children's ministry this year. As the year begins, our children will learn how "People Welcome Jesus." My prayer is the children will welcome other children and will then share what they have learned about Jesus! Would you pray that prayer with me?
We will be collecting for Heifer International this month, so please feel free to buy some cookies and look at those darling smiles to help a great cause! I am going to save the money this year until Heifer offers a 3 for 1 match of giving and then we will triple the amount of animals purchased for families that so need the help.
We are already talking about VBS and of course there will be our Easter Egg Hunt before that.
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

Roof Campaign Update
from Debbi Isom
First year down and 2 to go! WOW! Praise be to God! We met the first year goal of $7,700 and slightly exceeded it so we are off to a super start for 2019! The weekly goal is $1 each Sunday per member. That's $52 a year. Some pay the whole year at once while others pay weekly or monthly. Either way it all adds up to the goal. Check out the model on the table outside the sanctuary to see the progress. Each post-it note roof tile equates to $100 raised for the new roof. We are so grateful to everyone for making the first year a success! The body of Christ at Harvester is doing great things to grow God's kingdom. Amen!
