Word of the Week
July 30, 2020
Reminder: This Sunday is the first Sunday of the month so we will partake in Communion. Remember to have your Communion elements ready for the 9am online service.

 From Pastor Gary

This week we will begin a new series called "KISS."  Our version of the acronym is Keep It Simple, Saints. I will kick off the series this week with "That's So Simple." I will introduce the series with some ways to get people to follow, believe and obey.
One of the takeaways from the sermon will be that no one needs to suffer in silence. I will encourage you to reach out to the church or your pastors when you are needing help. The last part of James 4:2 in the NRSV Bible says this, "You do not have, because you do not ask." If you are willing to ask someone for help, we will find someone to help you. There is no need to suffer at home when there are plenty that would love to help you.
Go and Make Disciples!
Pastor Gary

Children's Ministry

Join us for our Wednesday night fun  at 7:00pm in the Harvester Families Facebook page. We are in the middle of a fun picture challenge! Check it out for a chance to win a $25 gift card.
Families join with us on Saturday August 1st for a time of prayer. Where ever you may be at 12:00pm stop and pray. As our church families and families in our community, as well as teachers and administrators prepare to head back to school, things are going to be different amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Bringing new back-to-school prayer requests. Let's unite and cover our local schools, leadership and students; new families homeschooling or still trying to make hard decisions in prayer.
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19 (NIV)
We're here for you! Just an email away.

Samaritan's Purse
Operation Christmas Child
Shoe Boxes

Hello Harvester!  Earlier this month, Samaritan's Purse released the following message on their website: The COVID-19 global pandemic has disrupted everyday life for millions of people around the world. Yet, Samaritan's Purse continues to share the eternal hope of the Gospel and to serve in Jesus' Name. We want boys and girls around the world to know that God loves them and has not forgotten them during this time of fear and uncertainty. We're looking forward to a great Operation Christmas Child season as we prayerfully consider ways to modify our collection and processing in light of COVID-19. We are monitoring local, state, and national guidelines and making adjustments to help protect the health of those involved in collecting and processing shoebox gifts.
So what does that mean for Harvester's OCC campaign for 2020? Collection Week is still scheduled for November, so we will continue our efforts to make that happen. We will monitor local and state guidelines to determine whether a packing party can be held safely, but in any case, we will make shoeboxes available for packing by individuals. We've had a number of donations for our packing party even during the shutdown and we'll make these items available for individuals if we can't have a party.
Many other leaders around the country are still finding in-store and online "deals" on items suitable for boxes, so check when you're safely out and about and maybe pick up one or two things for boxes.  You can place your donations in the OCC bin in the church hallway on Tuesdays from 10am-1pm, Thursdays from 1-3:30pm or Sundays from 8:30-10am. If you are unable to drop off your donations, contact Janet Sass at 813-598-1783 or jasass@hotmail.com and she can make arraignments to pick them up .
  • July -- Clothing Items
  • August -- School Supplies
  • September -- Games
  • October -- Personal and/or Harvester Letters/Photos
  • November -- Packing Party!
  • December -- Prayers for our Boxes

Harvester's 25th Anniversary begins December 2020! We will celebrate next year when we get a vaccine and it is safe to all be back together!

Our Daring Faith Team is working on special events and needs your help. We would like to collect pictures and "memories" from our church members from their time with Harvester - please think about any special, funny, touching moments you have had at Harvester or because of Harvester and share them by emailing to harvesterdaringfaith@gmail.com. We would also like to do some short video member interviews where members can talk about an experience with Harvester that can be compiled with others.

Please email harvesterdaringfaith@gmail.com if you are willing to participate. We would love a variety of content - Harvester helping you come to Christ (anyone take Pastor Gary's Evangelism class or Class 401?), memories of getting married/baptized, funny memories, memories of meeting lifetime friends, etc.
