From The Pastor
"I Can't Do It!"
Have you ever been afraid of something, and the more you think about it the more crippling it becomes? Like, with all the evil things happening in our world, it is so much easier to hide in our homes for fear that something "might" happen! We may know the percentages of it actually happening are extremely low, "But what if...!" Am I better off not going to the doctor's office when I know something may be a problem, for fear of having it confirmed? This kind of reality can really cause us to become paralyzed.
The problem for people of faith is that we know that we aren't meant to live in fear. Scriptures teach us that,
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts our fear." (1 John 4:18), and
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:7) We are
"more than conquerors through Him who loved us." (Romans 8:37) We are to live our lives in the bold confidence of Christ, and even when things don't happen the way we expect, we know God can bring good!
These are some of the things I've heard lately from my church family, and I want us to remember a few things. Many of you know that we are planning a trip to the Holy Land for next year. As much as some of us would love to see where Jesus lived and walked, many are so afraid of what "might" happen. I will tell you that I've been there and it has had a profound impact on my life. What "did" happen was far more life-changing than what "might" have happened. I went with all my fears, and I'm ready to go back! This Sunday at 4pm we will have an opportunity to hear from a travel group that will be organizing a trip scheduled for next year, and if you have any interest at all, I pray that you will show up and receive more information.
I will also tell you that we are about to begin a new series based on the content of the movie, "I Can Only Image." It is a powerful movie that expresses the potential of what the grace of Jesus Christ can do in anyone's life! This series will encourage us to draw closer to our Heavenly Father, and to share the same grace, forgiveness, and love to others as we have received ourselves. These messages have the power to transform lives for Jesus, and I hope you will not only attend, but be willing to bring others.
I know things can feel overwhelming at times, but we are never alone. God has given us His Spirit and one another, and when we are filled with His Spirit and surrounded by His family, we never need to feel defeated or afraid! May we draw closer to God and each other as we continue along life's journey! Remember - I pray for and love all of you, Harvester!

Congregational Care For Our Harvester Family
If you know anyone who has been, or is sick, or might need some encouragement, would you please call the church office or myself (Pastor Gary) and let us know how we can help? We need to be aware of those that are in need of a call, a card, or someone to visit them. We have been told people are upset no one has visited them or they haven't heard from anyone. When we check around, no one even knew they were ill.
With our Congregational Care Team getting a fresh start under the leadership of Deborah Alexander, we truly want to do all we can for those who need the help of our church family. Deborah's number is 813-994-2538.
If it is an emergency and you need someone immediately, call or text Pastor Gary at 813-727-5556.
Please feel free to call the church number 813-948-2311 anytime day or night for things that do not need immediate attention. As soon as someone is in the office, they will return your call or forward your message to the appropriate person. The office hours are 8am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday.
Prayer for Harvester
Pastor Gary is leading a prayer group in praying for Harvester the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30-7:30pm in the Sanctuary. Everyone is welcome. Please join us.
PHONE ALERT! PHONE ALERT!
For those who are unable to make it to the Wednesday prayer group, I am asking that you set a recurring alarm on your phone for a time and day of your choice to take time to pray specifically for your church and God's will to be done at Harvester! The more we talk to God about what He wants from us, the faster we can begin working on it. Thank you everyone for helping us to bombard Heaven with our requests!
The Pink Flamingo is Flying!
This is a fundraiser for our youth group. The Pink Flamingo has begun its journey through our Harvester Family. If you find the "bird" on your lawn, you are encouraged to take an envelope from the coffee can on its back and make a donation of any amount to our youth the very next Sunday. Inside the can you will also find a list of names and addresses of our Harvester Family. Make sure your name is crossed out (so you don't get it again!), and then decide whose home you will plant the bird next! If you get caught by the family while you are in the process, you will need to pay a $5 fine in their name, and then take it to another home where you will hopefully not get caught again! This is obviously meant to be a fun activity for our church as our youth seek to defray the cost of this year's summer camps and conferences. Thank you for your support!!!
Roof Campaign Update
from Debbi Isom
First year down and 2 to go! WOW! Praise be to God! We met the first year goal of $7,700 and slightly exceeded it so we are off to a super start for 2019! The weekly goal is $1 each Sunday per member. That's $52 a year. Some pay the whole year at once while others pay weekly or monthly. Either way it all adds up to the goal. Check out the model on the table outside the sanctuary to see the progress. Each post-it note roof tile equates to $100 raised for the new roof. We are so grateful to everyone for making the first year a success! The body of Christ at Harvester is doing great things to grow God's kingdom. Amen!
Thank you to Denny Johnson for waxing the floors in the Children's Wing! They look nice and shiny!
Linda Smith would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and cards sent to John. He greatly appreciates your love!

Thank you to everyone helping in the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings! We appreciate you making coffee, setting up snacks and cleaning up after the 11am worship! You are all wonderful servants.
Thank you to Joanie Einemann for helping out in the church office each week. You are a blessing!
