William Paterson University's Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies will be hosting several programs to commemorate Genocide Awareness Month during April 2021, including events for teachers, WP faculty and alumni. All events are free and virtual.
Dean Ginsberg has been selected as a participant in the prestigious 2021 HERS (Higher Education Resource Services) program, which is designed to create and sustain a diverse network of women leaders in higher education.
WP's student-run WPTV television station won awards for WP Sports Desk and Best Video Comedy Program at the 81st annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) awards virtual ceremony. WPSC radio station won for Best Specialty Music Show.
Marshall, a William Paterson University nursing professor, received a grant that will provide selected participants with free Mental Health First Aid certificate training. The program will also mentor underrepresented minority students at local high schools by encouraging them to pursue STEM careers. 
"While at William Paterson, both of these musicians demonstrated incredible creativity and a very prolific bounty of work," says Peter McGuinness, professor of music and head of the jazz arranging program. “Now, they have gone on to make a real mark in the outside world. We could not be prouder!"
WP is conducting a contest this spring to encourage members of our community to write a song that will inspire enthusiasm at athletic competitions and other special events, and become a part of our shared Pioneer tradition. The winning submission will receive $2,000, and will be adopted as the official University fight song.
