More Than Just Summer Camp

There’s something special about summer camp.

It starts with the excitement of the first day and grows through new friendships, favorite activities, silly moments and stories kids can’t wait to share at home. Summer camp is more than just a way to spend the day. It’s a place where kids can explore, play, build confidence and make memories that last long after summer ends.

At Wilmette Park District, camp is all about giving kids the chance to try something new, stay active, get creative and enjoy everything summer should be.

With a variety of camps still open for registration, there’s still time to find the right fit for your child’s summer!

A Hoppin’ Good Time at Bunny Brunch & Egg Hunts

Spring fun was in full swing at this year’s Bunny Brunch & Egg Hunts and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us!

Families gathered to enjoy brunch, take photos with the Bunny and take part in a seasonal tradition that brought the community together.

This year, we welcomed 379 children for the Children’s Egg Hunt and 35 dogs for the Doggie Egg Hunt, with 6,000 eggs hidden for the kids and over 750 eggs for the pups.

Thanks to Kriser's of Wilmette, two lucky pups who found bunny tickets received prize baskets.

“Seeing so many families come together to celebrate the spring season—despite the chilly morning—and watching both kids and pets enjoy themselves really highlights how important these community moments are. It’s a wonderful way to welcome spring,” says Julie Freels, Recreation Supervisor – General Recreation.

We were happy to bring more than 130 participants to the Bunny Brunch, where we enjoyed a catered meal from The Lawn and keep sake photos with the Bunny!

CRC Restoration Project UPDATE

The District is beginning the final phases of the CRC Restoration Project, with carpeting and baseboard work now underway.

Starting Wednesday, April 1, the CRC Restoration Project will move into its second phase of work.

Phase 2 – Gymnastics Lobby

This area will be closed to all access during this phase.

  • Patrons will be directed through the building and into the gymnastics space via designated restroom access points
  • No spectator viewing area will be available during this time
  • Staff will continue to be available on-site to assist with directions

Phase 1 of the project has been successfully completed, and the western hallway is now fully reopened to the public. We appreciate the community’s patience during this initial phase.
