WPH Hiring Summer Students!

WPH are looking for those with previous knowledge and experience with the Green/Clean Economy, as this role will require intensive research into this sector.


This is an 8-week contract starting May 28th, 2024, so please ensure you are available for that timeframe in a 35hr/week capacity.


This role is made possible through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

To qualify for this role, you must:

• Be between 15-30 years of age as of May 27, 2024

• Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.

• Have a valid SIN


Unfortunately, according to the grant stipulations, international students are not able to apply for this role.

2024 EmployerOne Results

Here's an example of the types of questions we ask in our EmployerOne Survey.


Hamilton’s Employer One Survey has uncovered the needs of employers for 11 years and counting. In 2024, almost half of the employers we surveyed noted a good short-term business outlook, with increases in revenue.


However, from our survey we also identified some key challenges to employers. In particular, employers’ highlighted their difficulties in hiring new employees, with rising costs of business inputs weighing down on various sectors across the City.

Mohawk College’s Challenge 2025 is pleased to host Hamilton’s Untapped Labour Market, a free half-day workforce development discussion. This event will bring together small and medium enterprises to discuss issues impacting the local labour market and to provide resources to support workforce development.

Student Talent Connect Program 

Calling all Hamilton employers! Student Talent Connect is kicking off with a launch event and you’re invited! 


Student Talent Connect is a new Hamilton Chamber of Commerce initiative designed to support Hamilton employers with accessing student talent from McMaster University, Mohawk College, and Redeemer University.


If you are interested in hosting a work-integrated learning (WIL) student via an internship, co-op, or field placement, but don’t know where to start, this event is for you! Our launch event will provide you with the resources you need to jumpstart your WIL journey.

Seniors Kickoff Event

June is Seniors’ Month so let’s celebrate seniors! The City of Hamilton and Hamilton Council on Aging are hosting the 2024 Seniors Kick off event on June 10th from 10 am to 2 pm at Michelangelo’s Event and Conference Centre. This information and wellness fair will offer a variety of presentations on topics relevant to seniors, entertainment, 60+ exhibitors, and a light lunch.

Summer Reading Buddies

Looking to volunteer this summer? Summer Reading Buddies Volunteers help children who have finished Grades one through six to continue reading throughout the summer. The program runs from July 8 until August 19 and encourages reluctant readers to enjoy reading through educational board games and activities.

Since 2009, thousands of people have walked in solidarity with survivors of violence and raised more than $1.35M to power YWCA Hamilton’s programs and services.

The following webinars examine a multitude of topics and issues related to disability inclusion including assistive technology, diversity and equity, accommodations, and barriers to sustainable employment.

Resources to support the career development of transgender people


While strides have been made toward inclusion and away from transphobia, transgender people still face discrimination in the workplace. In an article published in 2016, Human Resources Director Canada reported that almost a third of 433 transgender people surveyed thought they were turned down for a job because of their gender, while 18% were certain of it.
