Request for Information

DLA Land and Maritime uses Requests for Information (RFI) as a standard business process with the purpose of collecting written information about the capabilities of various suppliers. A list of L&M RFIs can be found below (note this list may not be all inclusive).
Per FAR 15.201(e), “RFIs may be used when the Government does not presently intend to award a contract, but wants to obtain price, delivery, other market information, or capabilities for planning purposes. Responses to these notices are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. There is no required format for RFIs.”

On August 10, the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council issued a final rule revising the Federal Acquisition Regulations relating to the limitations on prime contractors’ ability to subcontract on small business set-aside contracts. Read more
Notice of Request for Comments on Barriers Facing Small Businesses in Contracting With the Department of Defense

The participation of dynamic, resilient, and innovative small businesses in the defense industrial base is critical to the United States' efforts to maintain its technological superiority, military readiness, and warfighting advantage. In furtherance of its efforts to maximize opportunities for small businesses to contribute to national security, the Department seeks public input on the barriers that small businesses face in working with the Department. This input will be used to update the Department's Small Business Strategy led by the DoD Office of Small Business Programs. Read more
