Working with School Food Service Purchasing Programs and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
November 16
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Commercial Avenue Campus
2125 Commercial Avenue | Madison, WI 53704
Join WPI and the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction at Madison Area Technical College to learn about opportunities related to School Lunch Programs. Wisconsin Procurement Institute staff will also be present to assist with procurement-related questions during and after the event.
This session is intended for businesses interested in working with schools who participate in the USDA National School Lunch Program. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) – School Nutrition Team (SNT) will provide an overview of how procurements are conducted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the state agency, DPI SNT (in collaboration with DOA), and at the local school level. Since school food service purchases are made at various levels within the supply chain, including national, regional, and local levels, we will discuss the requirements and types of products and services commonly purchased by school food service and the contracting process. The presentation will also cover the Wisconsin Local Food for Schools (WI LFS) Program, which targets involvement from small and/or socially disadvantaged businesses to expand the local supply chain.
