Who Are We?
The West Philadelphia Promise Neighborhood is a U.S. Department of Education funded grant to support "cradle-to-career" opportunities for children living or going to school in Belmont, East Parkside, Mantua, Mill Creek, Powelton Village, and West Powelton / Saunders Park. The program seeks to improve education, health, and economic success for children, their families and the community.

Food Access During the Holidays
Student Meals:
Christmas Break Student Meal pick-up has been moved to: 
Wednesday, December 23rd 9-2pm
(7 breakfasts and 7 lunches for the week)
All school locations will be closed Friday Dec 25th and Friday Jan 1st. 
Student meal sites will resume to normal distribution on Friday, January 8, 2021. 
Families are encouraged to use food sites and food pantries during the winter break. Find a site and confirm its schedule by calling 311 or visiting phila.gov/food.
Food Sites:
Many food sites listed on phila.gov/food will be closed for food distribution on Thursday, December 24 and Thursday, December 31 due to the Christmas and New Years Eve holiday.

PHLConnectED Information
The Expanded eligibility applies to Philadelphia K-12 families who have internet in their home and:
  • Participate in public benefit programs with income qualifications; OR
  • Have a child who is designated as an English Learner; OR
  • Have a child who receives special education services.
PHLConnectED offers two ways for eligible households to get free internet:
  • An in-home high-speed internet connection, or
  • A high-speed mobile hotspot for families who are experiencing homelessness, in-between homes, housing insecure or where in-home connection is not possible
Families should dial 2-1-1 and press 1 for English or press 8 for Spanish and translation services to get in touch with the PHLConnectED hotline and find out if they’re eligible.

Events: New Years Eve
The morning of New Year’s Eve, we will post a Countdown from Home video on our website homepage featuring music from Trinidelphia and a special Countdown to 2021 with Squiggles from Hamilton Hall!

Your family can decide what time to celebrate the New Year with your children – play the Countdown from Home video just before noon, at bedtime, or anytime in between!
