Barkers Island in Superior will host the   16th Annual Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival Aug. 24-25. WPR is proud to be a sponsor of the event which is the largest festival held in Superior, and the largest dragon boat festival in Wisconsin. Three thousand racers and visitors will come from all over the upper Midwest and Canada for the Friday evening festivities and around 70 teams race on Saturday. Area Rotary clubs put on the festival as a fundraiser for their community service projects. The charitable partner - Essentia Health -- raises funds for their cancer programs and services.
