“The bill was heard by the committee Tuesday afternoon during a marathon session, but because several committee members were absent, it didn’t get the votes it needed until shortly before midnight. Several Los Angeles advocates, including a rep for Mayor Eric Garcetti and organizers with ACT-LA, were at the Capitol in Sacramento to register their support.” Curbed Los Angeles

“Experts say it’s time to ramp up emergency preparedness since there may be more earthquakes on the way. But what many Pasadenans don’t know is there is free emergency preparedness training available through the city. With training for the community emergency response team, known as CERT, volunteers learn how to help themselves and their community, under the guidance of firefighters.” Pasadena Now

“Pasadena Water and Power’s updating of the Municipal Services Committee on Tuesday was to reveal a program that is beginning to drive sales of electric vehicles (EV), while laying down expanding infrastructure to handle them and, hopefully, many more.” Pasadena Now

“Now that we are in a normal market, where there’s not a frenzy of buyers all clamoring for the same house, with multiple offers being the standard mode of operation, it’s getting trickier to get deals done.” Pasadena Star-News

“Using a newly-launched online dashboard, space enthusiasts, scientists, teachers and students alike can now see the latest information about LightSail 2, the second suitcase-sized spacecraft that The Planetary Society in Pasadena launched as part of a multi-year project to demonstrate controlled solar sailing within low Earth orbit using CubeSat technology.” Pasadena Now
