MacCheck: Upload proof of vaccination, complete COVID-19 screening

The MacCheck digital tool is now available via website browser on any device (smartphone, laptop or tablet). All McMaster faculty, students and staff are required to upload proof of vaccination to the MacCheck digital tool starting today. You will only need to upload vaccination proof ONCE.

Further, you will use MacCheck to complete your daily check-in screening no more than an hour before you come to a McMaster campus. You will need to do this each day you visit a McMaster location. This process replaces the provincial self-assessment.

MacCheck Tips:
  • Use your personal MacID
  • If you forget your MacID, please reach out to Jennifer Tran, tranj56@mcmaster.ca to obtain your MacID
  • Vaccination proof upload
  • When uploading your vaccination documentation, it is recommended that you use an image file (.jpeg, .png)
  • Accessing your green checkmark throughout the day
  • Once you've completed the daily check-in, you can access your pass at any time that day through MacCheck by clicking 'Home' and selecting the 'Pass' icon. Further information about displaying your checkmark can be found by clicking here.
WRC Program for Faculty Development
Both learners and healthcare professionals feel unprepared to manage conflict in clinical settings whether that conflict is with a peer, supervisor, or patient. Learn about your own conflict management style and how that affects your interactions with learners, colleagues, and patients. Different circumstances call for using different styles and you will learn how to adapt your style to reduce conflict and optimize positive outcomes.

Conflict is inevitable and frequently occurs between colleagues, supervisors, learners, healthcare providers and patients. Poorly managed conflict can negatively impact the delivery of patient care and the quality of working and learning environments. Strategies to understand conflict and manage it effectively are important factors in professional development.

By the end of this PCL module, you will be able to:
  • Explain what conflict is
  • Identify different sources of conflict and describe how disagreements can escalate into conflict
  • Recognize examples of conflict you may encounter in healthcare settings
  • Demonstrate the role of effective communication in conflict resolution by responding to case scenarios
  • Apply the Thomas-Kilmann model to understand your preferred style for managing conflict
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of various conflict resolution styles
  • Identify when and how mediation may be required to help resolve conflict

MacPFD presents: McMaster P3 Event with Mr. Ross Fisher
Presentations suck. You know that. Mindless recitation of interminable bullet points illustrated by complex data tables and impenetrable diagrams. And that’s just YOUR presentation! You know what sucks and yet, for too many reasons, when it comes your turn to deliver a presentation you do just what you hate. Because it’s what they want, because it’s easy, because everyone else does it, because that’s what the boss wants, because it’s academic, because you don’t know any better.
Attend this workshop and change your presentations, forever.
