2019 Wisconsin Real Estate Trends Conference
Join the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA) at the 2019 Wisconsin Real Estate Trends Conference themed "What’s Next?" on September 25-26, in Chicago, Illinois! The Conference, Co-Chaired by Michael Zelin of Cushman & Wakefield and Jaime Fink of HFF, will kick off with the Welcome Networking Reception on OneTwoPru’s rooftop deck. Attendees can take advantage of outstanding networking opportunities while enjoying fantastic views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan.

A compelling speaker program follows on September 26 at the Mid-America Club with a look ahead to the commercial real estate markets in 2020 and a discussion of late cycle investing with Jimmy Hinton, Managing Director of Research for HFF. Former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus will be the featured lunch speaker and will share a 360-degree perspective on Washington DC. He will discuss changing demographics and competing ideologies in both the Republican and Democratic parties and what they portend for the future of each party.   

In addition to featured sessions that discuss Opportunity Zones, Capital Markets, Retail, and Late Cycle Investing, premier networking opportunities are planned throughout the program. Mark your calendars and keep an eye open for registration information!

Wisconsin Connection Deal Spotlight
Tony Carlson (BBA 2005) of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital and Milo Pinkerton (MS 1979) of MSP Real Estate, Inc. have made donations to the Wisconsin Connection fund to commemorate a recent deal. Grandbridge worked with MSP to refinance the Lincoln Village age-restricted Multifamily property in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The non-recourse loan was funded with a low interest rate fixed for the 15-year term. Many thanks to Tony and Milo!
Considering Making A Wisconsin Connection Fund Donation?
The Wisconsin Connection Fund is the beneficiary of donations made by UW alumni and friends who are involved in real estate transactions with one another. The Wisconsin Connection Fund proceeds are used to directly impact the UW Real Estate Program through funding of the WREAA student intern position, scholarships and student field trips, as well as new initiatives undertaken by the Real Estate Program. Real Estate Club Presents Innovator Award to Alumnus Robert Bond
Students, alumni, friends and faculty assembled at the Pyle Center on March 28 for the presentation of the Real Estate Club Innovator Award. Following a networking reception, Michael Brennan, Executive Director of the Graaskamp Center, presented the award to Robert Bond (MS 1983), Co-Founder and President of Bond Companies. The Bond Companies is a leading real estate development and investment firm with a focus in multifamily, office, retail and mixed-use projects and offices in both Los Angeles and Chicago. Robert gave an interactive and light-hearted presentation to the club which was very well received by attendees. Students and attendees came away from his presentation grateful for Robert’s words of wisdom and the lessons he provided. Congratulations to Robert!

2019 WREAA Scholarship Recipients Chosen
The Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association is pleased to announce that recipients for the 2019 scholarships have been chosen! Through the generous support of UW-Madison Real Estate alumni and friends, WREAA is able to fund and administer four annual scholarships. Many thanks to the twenty alumni volunteers who donated their time and expertise to read and evaluate the scholarship applications and essays submitted by students. The UW Real Estate club graduation dinner sponsored by the WREAA was on held Monday night, April 29, at HopCat Restaurant on State Street.
