Software Product Vision

Our vision for this project is to create a greenfield attribute tracking software that is accurate, effortless, and empowering — a tool that saves time, reduces stress, builds trust, and provides users with a seamless experience.

Transaction History Download Correction

As part of a software release that took place on the evening of May 28, “Transaction History” downloads were corrected to include certificate “Generation Start Date” and “Generation End Date” columns that were erroneously removed previously. These columns will appear after the certificate “Vintage” column on both CSV and PDF downloads.

WREGIS Software Testing Applications Being Accepted

External user testing for various functions of the new WREGIS software is slated to begin in Q3. We are accepting applications from stakeholders who are interested in testing. To be included in the testing pool, submit the testing form to wregisadmin@wecc.org

Software Launch Forum Update

The Software Launch Forum (SWLF) held its first meeting on May 19. At this introductory meeting, forum members received an Agile 101 training from our software vendor, Atomic Object, to help them better understand the development process currently underway. In addition, the members saw several artifacts from work already completed and had an opportunity to ask questions.

The SWLF will meet again in June.

WREGIS Training Tip: What Makes Distributed Generation Group Certificates Unique?

Distributed Generation Groups (DGG) are specialized generator registrations that bundle large numbers of small (< 50kW) customer-sited, distributed-generation units for generation reporting and certificate creation. The certificates issued for these types of registrations are different from stand-alone generating registration certificates in the following ways:

  • Generation data is reported for the whole group, so specific generation cannot be attributed to a specific unit within the group.
  • Certificates are issued for the group and not for individual units.
  • WREGIS public reports only display group-level information, and anyone who receives a DGG certificate has no system visibility into the units included in that group registration.

These differences may affect program eligibility or contract compliance, as they relate to the certificates. For any users considering participating in DGG registrations or acquiring DGG certificates from another party, please consider these differences before registering or purchasing. Contact the WREGIS help desk wregishelp@wecc.org for more information.

Western Renewable Energy Generation Information System (WREGIS) is an independent, web-based tracking system for renewable energy certificates (REC), predominantly in the West. WREGIS is a WECC non-statutory program.
