WILD ROCKIES

November 2023 Newsletter

Season’s Greetings from the team at the Wild Rockies Field Institute! We are so appreciative of this community and all of the support you've shown to us over the years. We're so glad you're here!

As we announced earlier this year, we're in the thick of our first ever major fundraising campaign, with a goal of raising $550,000 over the next five years. These funds will go directly towards getting more students out into the field with us, and continuing the work we value so much. Our students go on to help build a more sustainable future through the careers they choose - as conservation policy experts, restoration practitioners, water masters, district attorneys, biologists, renewable energy investors, and more.

You can help us with this work by contributing to The Campaign for WRFI: Celebrating 30 Years of Field Education this fall. Your donation helps us provide student financial aid, broaden our recruitment reach, partner with new colleges and universities, and build a more resilient organization. As we embark on our largest fundraising campaign ever, we appreciate your support.

Four amazing WRFI supporters have challenged us to raise $30,000 by the end of 2023, which they will match with 1:1 donations – can you make a gift today to help us meet this goal?

Mostly Work, A Little Play

Worlds collided for WRFI recruiter Kimberly recently as she visited the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to speak to professors and students about our 2024 course offerings. Kimberly is an alum of both UNC-Chapel Hill and WRFI's Environmental Ethics, so she found it especially rewarding to relate and connect with those on campus.

While her days at UNC were busy, she still found time to sneak away to the on-campus disc golf course for a quick round.

"My focus at UNC changed after taking a WRFI course, and ultimately, so did my life! I loved having the opportunity to share my story with other Tar Heels."
