Kabbalat Shabbat Service Featuring the Presentation of the Tracy Kreisberg & Bauman Scholars Awards

Friday, June 12 at 6:15 pm

Join us for a memorable Shabbat service where we will observe cherished WRT traditions of awarding special recognition to outstanding members of the Confirmation (10th grade) class and Graduation (12th grade) class. Congratulations to Dylan Lemberg who is the Bauman Scholars recipient and Zoe Wechsler who is the Kreisberg Prize recipient.

The service is also a "Senior Sendoff" where we will celebrate members of the Class of 2026 as they graduate high school and reflect on their paths of Jewish involvement through their teen years.

Torah Study

Saturday, June 13 at 9:00 am 

Join us every Saturday morning as we gather for a brief service, nosh, and lively discussion of our weekly Torah portion. Our service is clergy led and features moments of gratitude, healing and remembrance. Following some snacking and schmoozing, we come back together for engaging Torah study. All are welcome and no experience is necessary.

Trembling Before G-d with Conversation Following

Sunday, June 14, from 2:00 pm -5:00 pm

Trembling Before G-d is a groundbreaking documentary exploring the profound struggle of LGBTQ+ Hasidic and Orthodox Jews to reconcile their deep love of Judaism with biblical prohibitions against homosexuality. Through intimate personal stories, the film challenges assumptions about faith, sexuality, and religious fundamentalism in a deeply moving and eye-opening way.

Followed by a discussion with Rabbi Alissa Platcow.

We are thrilled to welcome special guest and thought leader on antisemitism and racism, Eric K. Ward, who will join our Juneteenth service and conversation afterward. One of America's foremost voices on authoritarianism and multiracial democracy, Eric is Executive Vice President of Race Forward, a Southern Poverty Law Center fellow, and the first American awarded the Civil Courage Prize.

Stay after services for a thought-provoking, in-depth conversation between Rabbi Alissa Platcow and Eric Ward.

Rosh Chodesh 5786 Led by Cantor Amanda Kleinman

Join Cantor Kleinman as we mark each new month on the Hebrew calendar. We will come together as a community to celebrate happy occasions, and to hold space for one another in times of challenge or healing. We are studying Heart of a Stranger by Rabbi Angela Buchdahl.

Cooking4HOPE, Hot Meals

Monday, June 29 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (at WRT)

Sign up to join other members of the WRT community to cook a hot dinner, make sandwiches, and pack sandwich bags for HOPE Community Services. You can also bake desserts to be included in the sandwich bags, shop for groceries, or deliver to HOPE.  Sign up here. Cooking4HOPE is funded by WRT’s Food and Housing Insecurity Fund, so please continue to support these efforts by contributing to the Fund.
