Kabbalat Shabbat Service

Friday, October 31 at 6:15 pm (at WRT)


Shabbat service features the rituals, melodies and warmth of our congregation. The service includes a sermon or presentation by one of our rabbis, cantors, or special guests. Participate alongside fellow congregants in-person, or join us on any of our live-streaming platforms.

Torah Study

Saturday, November 1 at 9:00 am (in-person at WRT or Zoom) 

 

Join us every Saturday morning as we gather for a brief service, nosh, and lively discussion of our weekly Torah portion. Our service is clergy led and features moments of gratitude, healing and remembrance. Following some snacking and schmoozing, we come back together for engaging Torah study. All are welcome and no experience is necessary.

Israel: The Last Thirty Years

Four Sundays in November from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm (at WRT - Bring your own lunch; beverages provided)


Join Rabbi Blake for a close examination of the historical and political forces that have shaped the last 30 years of Israeli history. Following his popular course on the History of Zionism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (2023-2024), this 4-week in-person and livestreamed class will explore the period from the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin z”l 30 years ago this November through the present moment.


November 2: The Roots and Evolution of Israeli Democracy with Rabbi Jan Katzew, Ph.D, Guest Scholar

November 9: From Assassination to Intifada, 1995-2004

November 16: From Gaza to Gaza to Gaza, 2005-2014

Pastor Pogue delivers the sermon and music will be enhanced by the extraordinary Mel Reburg Mass Choir of Greater Centennial AME Zion Church. Services will be followed by a community-wide dinner. At this special service, we will also mark the 30th yahrzeit of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, z’l, who was assassinated on November 5, 1995.

Curious about learning Torah? Already a seasoned learner? Join Rabbi Platcow and fellow congregants for a special Shabbat morning exploring the Reform Movement’s new Torah commentary. This masterful volume, to be published in 2027, represents the first-ever

comprehensive Reform Jewish translation of the Torah and will feature penetrating
