4th Quarter - December 2019 | Contact Newsletter
Your Quarterly News & Updates
Greetings Washington State Dental Laboratory members and friends! Our 2019 4th Quarter Contact Newsletter is filled with information about our upcoming 2020 Northwest Laboratory Forum, 2020 Membership and much more!
President's Message - Megan Nakanishi
We had another great Roundtable Meeting in October at the Tulalip Resort and Casino! I was so encouraged by all the new faces sitting in the room; this meeting is really the heart of what our association is about. I can’t wait to continue building on these relationships and strengthening our Association in 2020 and beyond!

As we look ahead to next year, there is a lot of work to do still with the new Washington State laboratory registration law. We will be relying on our membership to weigh-in on how this law will shape up and how we will implement the various components.

So…. keep yourselves busy at the bench during the hectic end-of-year season, but take a minute in January to touch base with the WSDLA and how you can be involved in shaping this important legislation!

The Finance Factor: Digital Security in the Age of Human Capital
ADP Spark Team, Data Security
Digital security is paramount in a connected world where the human attack surface outpaces traditional network risks.

The "human attack surface," defined as hackers who now attack people instead of devices, is on the rise. Why does it matter for finance leaders? Because any staff member with access to corporate networks — effectively everyone — represents potential threat, and potential loss.

Have any of your Dentists left you?
by John Marshall
I see this too often and I get disappointed. I ask this question and I also get disappointed.

Let me explain.

In working with dental labs, when I ask them how many dentists have stopped sending them business this year, too often they’re just silent. They’re silent because they don’t know the answer to my question. I often sigh and they feel my disappointment.
