2022 premium rates update
At our Annual General Meeting yesterday it was announced the average premium rate for 2022 would be reduced by 5.1 per cent, leaving $168 million in the economy that can be invested in creating new jobs, technology upgrades, and improvements to health and safety. Businesses will receive their annual premium rate statements later this month. You can stay up to date by visiting our website.
Insights from 2020 By the Numbers report now available
The 2020 By the Numbers statistical report is now available. The report highlights health and safety trends in Ontario, including injuries, fatalities and return-to-work results. Users can view and compare workplace health and safety data between Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 businesses. It can also be used to understand industry trends, identify key areas to focus on and inform updates to health and safety plans and processes.
Wondering about the safety record of a business?
Safety Check makes it easy to see how safe a business is and compare health and safety results of similar businesses.
 
You can:
  •  View the number and types of injuries in any workplace, including COVID-19
  • Understand how serious those injuries are by seeing how many people are still receiving benefits a year after an accident
  • Find out if a business is a member of our Health and Safety Excellence program
Introducing appeals information into online services  
People with claims can now track the status of their appeal any time and find the information they need through our secure online services. They can also submit documents and send us messages, all in one convenient place.

Navigating to the right service to submit claim documents 
We’ve added questions on our website to help you get to the right online service to submit a claim document or report an injury or exposure. You can also watch a step-by-step video on how to download, fill out and submit forms online. 
The WSIB recognized at International Media Festival for Prevention  
The World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2021 wrapped up on Thursday, Sept. 23. Delegates from over 120 countries attended the event, which was themed ‘Prevention in the Connected Age: global solutions to achieve safe and healthy work for all.’

Part of the Congress included the International Media Festival for Prevention, which offered an overview of films and multimedia productions about safety and health at work from all over the world. The WSIB’s Day of Mourning campaign won in its category for films that use emotions and tragic events to raise awareness and prevent fatal accidents at work from happening again.
