COVID-19 update
Since the pandemic started last year, we have approved over 18,000 claims related to COVID-19. Industries most affected continue to be nursing and residential care facilities, hospitals and agriculture. We transparently report our COVID-19 claims data on our website and update it weekly.

If an employee has tested positive for COVID-19 and tells you they believe they contracted COVID-19 in the workplace, you are required to report the illness to the WSIB, even if you feel that the employee did not contract it at work. It’s easy to report or file a claim online on our website.

Deadline for reconciliation approaching
Don’t forget to complete your 2020 reconciliation by March 31 if you report and pay your premiums monthly. Beginning in 2022, the reconciliation form will be available exclusively online, making it more convenient for you:
  • paperless
  • available anytime you are
  • direct online payment
  • quick, automatic calculations
  • reliable and secure
Analyze and share your claim information with or without COVID-19 related claims
Businesses can now find a new filter on Compass that will allow you to analyze and share your claim information with or without COVID-19 related claims. Enhancing the data available to you means better decision-making.

Costs associated with COVID-19 related claims are not allocated at an employer or class level. Instead, they are allocated on a schedule-wide basis not included in the calculation of your rates.

National Day of Mourning virtual commemoration
We will be honouring those who have died, been injured or suffered illness in the workplace in our special virtual ceremony to commemorate the National Day of Mourning on Wednesday, April 28.

Reminder: tell us when your mailing address changes
If your mailing or business address has changed, you have a responsibility to let the WSIB know so you don’t miss important mail.

Most businesses can update their mailing address online; however, if you need to change an international address, another type of address (e.g. payroll address), or your business has multiple branch locations, please call us at 1-800-387-0750. We’re available Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
