Ontario businesses can now report insurable earnings and pay WSIB premiums online through a Canada Revenue Agency My Business Account.

First responders have the highest number of mental stress injury claims seen by the WSIB. Speaking at the First Responders’ Mental Health Conference on May 17, WSIB CEO Jeffery Lang encouraged participants to work together to put in place the supports first responders need to stay healthy. “We must keep sharing information and best practices and continue research to improve treatment programs,” said Lang. “Our shared message has to be that we have the backs of the first responders, who have ours.”

First responders have access to mental health services geared specifically to them through the First Responder Mental Health Specialty Program Pilot, provided jointly by the WSIB and Trillium Health Partners. The WSIB website also has information about work-related mental stress injuries and how the WSIB can help.

Our new community-based health care program is designed to provide early care to people with musculoskeletal injuries. This comprehensive program replaces our former separate programs for low back, shoulder, musculoskeletal and non-surgical fracture care. All regulated health professionals whose scope of practice, knowledge and skill include the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries can register to deliver the program.
