Greetings!

Class is back in session, and much like students meeting new classmates, we’d like to introduce ourselves to you. WSKG Education is a mighty department of two, with over 30 years of collective education experience. Get to know us!

Hi, I’m Brieanna Moreno, Director of Education at WSKG. I bring over 22 years of experience, both as a classroom educator and as a leader in professional development. My background spans multiple grade levels, which gives me an extensive understanding of the diverse needs of educators and students alike. I’ve designed and facilitated impactful training sessions that equip teachers with innovative strategies, research-based best practices, and the tools needed to enhance student learning. I have a deep-rooted passion for education combined with expertise in curriculum development and instructional coaching. I strive to ensure that WSKG professional development programs are both relevant and effective in supporting educators across our 21-county viewing region.

Hi, I’m Marley Vavra! As WSKG’s Early Learning Coordinator, I connect families and educators with PBS Kids resources and learning opportunities in our community. I’ve worked in education for over a decade, and as a parent of twins, I know how important it is to find learning that’s both engaging and accessible. I love creating hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and joy in little learners.

Early Learning activities from Marley Vavra

Clifford’s Musical Crown

I recently shared this activity during my visit to Hartwick Library, and it was a big hit! First, watch the Clifford the Big Red Dog clip “Let’s Make Music.”

Then, decorate a Clifford crown covered in music notes. Once your design is complete, cut it out and have an adult help tape or staple the strip so you can wear your musical masterpiece. 🎵🐾

Kindness Bingo

With school starting, many families are looking for ways to encourage kindness at home and in the classroom. Kindness Bingo is a fun way to make that lesson stick! Each board is filled with simple acts of kindness—like giving a compliment, helping a friend, or sharing a smile. As kids play, they not only practice kind behaviors but also get excited to spot and celebrate kindness in everyday life. It’s a playful way to inspire empathy and make kindness a habit. 💛✨

Trunk or Treat

WSKG Kids presents a FREE Trunk or Treat event. Join us Monday, October 27th from 4:30 - 6:30 PM at 601 Gates Road, Vestal, NY for a spooktacular FREE event! Bring the family to enjoy trunks decorated by local families and organizations who will be handing out candy and treats!
