Response Requested for Learning Preference
Last week the preliminary learning preferences were due. As of now our records indicate that you have not logged on to pick a preference. In the event that you do not make a selection, your child will be enrolled for the online learning environment. As we work diligently to plan for your child's schedule, it is crucial that we have the most accurate information to support their learning. Please log on today to make the choice.

If you would prefer to just reply to this email with your child's full name, grade level, and whether at this time you would like to sign them up for in-person or online instruction we would be happy to make the change in Powerschool for you. The Planning Guide for 2020-2021, should help answer many of the questions we have received about specifics for each learning environment for the upcoming school year. Parents will have the opportunity to change their selection prior to

, by contacting their campus registrar. In providing LISD your preliminary choice now, we will be able to better build our secondary master schedules for your child.
To indicate your preliminary preference:
1 - Visit PowerSchool Parent Portal - this can only be accessed through a computer browser and not from the PowerSchool mobile app
2 - Log in (You must make sure you are logged in as the parent)
3 - Select your student
4 - Scroll to the Left and click on 2020-21 Learning Environment
5 - Make your selection at the top of the screen and hit submit

Save the Date for New Student and Parent Orientation - Thursday, August 13
This program is for all new families to Lovejoy ISD. Students will have the opportunity to meet other new students to WSMS. More information will be coming regarding this virtual presentation.
Technology Pickup - August 13th
Since the first three weeks will be online, we will once again offer to check out devices to any students who need one in order to join their classes online. If you have a device at home that your child can use, I encourage you to not check one out from the school as these devices are limited. The sign up to reserve your device can be found

. Beginning September 8th, if your child will be returning to campus for face to face instruction, they will need to return their device on that day to the library.

As specified on the COVID-19 School Updates at theTexas Department of State Health Services website,
"School vaccination rules are in effect regardless of whether the education is received via virtual learning or on campus".
For those students entering 7th grade, there are 2 additional immunizations required before starting 7th grade. They are:
TDaP booster (Tetanus booster)
Menactra (Meningococcal)
