If you are interested in signing up for bus service for the Fall semester of the 2022-23 school year, the window for registration opens on Tuesday, May 31. Registration will remain open until July 21. Bus service registration is located in PowerSchool under the Transportation Section. Please register in PowerSchool no later than July 21.    

Bus service payments will NOT be open or accepted until Wednesday, July 13; after the 13th, you will have a two week window to submit payment for the Fall semester. This window will close at the end of the day on Wednesday, July 27. The fees for bus service are as follows:

AM or PM only $140/semester

Both AM and PM $175/semester

The registration window for the Spring semester will open in mid-October for returning bus riders. Open registration for all families will begin in mid-November. You may access the 2022-2023 Transportation Guidelines here.

Garden Club

Do you enjoy gardening? Come and help us over the summer at the WSMS Garden. We will be meeting on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am. We will gardening on the following days: May 31, June 14, 21, 28, July 12, 19 and 26. You can come one day or all of the days, we would love to have your help. We can also sign off on any service hours that you may need. Lost and Found – Donated June 3rd

Please encourage your son or daughter to look through the lost and found by the library and the athletic lost and found and claim any sweatshirts, shoes, hats, etc. they may have left behind.  All items not claimed by June 3rd  will be donated to Allen Community Outreach.

Immunizations

Early reminder to parents of students that will be 7th graders during the 2022-2023 school year: It is a State requirement that all 7th grade students must have had 2 required updated immunizations in order to attend school. These required immunizations are, TDaP booster (Tetanus booster) and Menactra (Meningococcal).Please obtain a copy of your child’s updated shots and provide it to our school nurse, Gretchen Young, BEFORE August 1st, 2022. You may drop it off in person, send it through the mail to Willow Springs Middle School, 1101 West Lucas Road, Lucas, TX 75002, by fax at 469-742-8501.

Incoming 7th and 8th graders Course Verifications - Change requests due July 18

Incoming 7th and 8th graders: Please verify your course selections for the 2022-2023 school year in PowerSchool.

1. Login to your PowerSchool account.

2. Click on class registration (left side of PS).

**If everything looks correct, you don't need to do anything. Complete this Google Form only IF you would like to request a change. This form will close on July18.

LHS Course Verification for Current 8th Graders

All students are required to verify their course requests for the 2022-2023 school year in PowerSchool. Please use the form located in the Google Class of 2026 to request any changes to the 2022-2023 course requests in PowerSchool. The form will be open from May 23-June 21, 2022. The form will close on June 21, 2022 at 4:30pm.

Please do not email your high school counselor with course request changes. AFTER JUNE 21 at 4:30pm, STUDENTS WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO MAKE CHANGES TO THEIR COURSE REQUESTS AND THERE WILL NOT BE ANY SCHEDULE CHANGES WHEN SCHOOL STARTS. It is imperative you check your course requests to make sure they are accurate.

Rising 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Summer Reading Assignments Information

Here is the link for Summer Reading Assignments for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders.

Lovejoy ISD staff will be holding a drill to test logistics and communication planning in case of a real emergency in the district, and need student volunteers (completed grades 2 and up). The event will take place on June 7 from 8am to 11am. High school students are welcome (and volunteer hours will be confirmed upon request) but should be dropped off and picked up by their parents. WSMS students who have applied to NJHS may earn up to 3 service hours for the fall 2022 semester by volunteering at this event.

PowerSchool Log In

Please take a minute to log in to PowerSchool to ensure the accuracy of your password. Over the summer, the district will push out information that will require you to access PowerSchool such as state testing results, transportation registration for 2022-2023, etc. If you need to have your password reset, please contact your child's campus registrar.



PowerSchool App

The PowerSchool app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You use the same PowerSchool online login. Enter the District code NJBC.

Athlete Physical Information

Online athletic forms are online and ready to be completed for the 2021-2022 school year. Please go to https://lovejoyisd.rankonesport.com/New/Home.aspx set up your account, and fill out the forms.
