WELCOME TO THE WSN NEWSLETTER!

Dear Ladies,
Many of us are still experiencing anxiety from the pandemic, not knowing what day it is, when is the next ZOOM meeting, are we going to be working remotely, etc. Employee burnout is another concern, and we worry that innovation is suffering even though productivity may have increased. Will there be a rush to return to “normal"? Do we want to return to the way things were in 2019?
We must take this opportunity to rethink, reimagine, and redesign our work. Moving forward means finding the path to living and working as fully as we can. This issue of the WSN Newsletter’s theme is your Path Forward.
HOW CAN THE WOMEN’S SUCCESS NETWORK BE A RESOURCE TO YOU IN THESE TIMES?
Let us know how we can help each other and e-mail your ideas to Pat Hurton at [email protected].
Sincerely,
WSN Executive Committee
"BELIEVE IN BETTER!"

Lynn Turner
Clear Vision Alliance
|
In our Women’s Success Network (WSN) newsletter we SPOTLIGHT each quarter a woman who models our mission and values. In this newsletter we feature Lynn Turner who is a partner in the Coaching/Consulting Business, Clear Vision Alliance. Their focus is helping individuals and businesses gain clarity about their intentions to make informed decisions so that they can achieve their goals and vision for the future. Lynn is a role model for women, and is an outstanding example who practices innovation, resilience, and creativity in normal times and even more so during the COVID-19 virus.
Lynn Turner often jokes that while her name may sound close to the word Linear, her life has been anything but. As a result, she has had to reinvent herself on many occasions and adapt to new circumstances and situations. She credits an unquenchable curiosity, a sense of responsibility, a healthy dose of humor and an unextinguishable positive outlook for helping her through some tough times. These traits came in especially handy during the pandemic. One of her favorite quotes is “A mind is like a Parachute. It doesn’t work if it is not Open!” To Lynn, mindset matters!
Having done volunteer work in a hospital and enjoying analysis, Lynn initially went to school to become a Medical Lab Technologist. At the same time, she worked part-time for a small family business that produced training videos for different industries. With only one-half credit left and an internship until graduation, Lynn was approached by the owner to stay full-time with the family business. Realizing she was close to graduating with her degree, the owner sweetened the pot by offering to send her to business school. The AIDS epidemic had also hit at this time so with a lot of unknowns in the medical field, Lynn decided to forego her original career path and stay on full-time with that business. She embraced her decision and all the learning that came with it gaining exposure to many facets of the business as well as other businesses/industries. Lynn looks for opportunities and when confronted with a hard decision, asks herself a few main questions … Does this align with my values and my overall objective? What is the worst thing that can happen? What can I learn/gain from this experience? And what will I regret most – not pursuing an opportunity or sticking to the original plan?
Her career and education have been a winding road that has involved working within Marketing, Licensing and Branding for a decade within a large, international sporting goods manufacturer, becoming a certified Personal Trainer, doing consultative sales to salons for a Hair Care Distributor, working with a Family Business Management Consultant firm, becoming a certified personal/professional coach, getting certified as a Behaviors/Motivators Analyst, Graphic Facilitator, and as a Designer and Facilitator using the Lego Serious Play Methodology. Each experience has created an opportunity for learning that has helped her become a better coach and facilitator to her clients. As a result of the pandemic, Lynn went on to study Innovation Management and Strategy through WOBI and the Kellogg School of Business as well as Virtual Collaborations, which allowed her business to immediately pivot within a virtual world taking remote sessions beyond Zoom and making them more interactive and engaging for their clients. The pivot has helped propel their business to new levels creating new opportunities. She, in turn, has shared this learning and has been helping individuals, teams and businesses to take themselves to the next level.
In between career and education, Lynn has raised two young men and cherishes spending time with them and their friends, often referred to as “mom” by their friends’ circle. In addition, she enjoys spending time with her ever-growing family, diverse group of friends, and her amazing significant other where they enjoy a variety of activities and hobbies together.

Letting Go and Moving Forward
By Karim Hajee
Let's face it. Many of us choose to hang on to things that at some point have hurt us, angered us, made us feel sad, or depressed us. If we choose to hang on to them, we will never move forward and we could even create physical or medical damage to our bodies. To prevent this from happening we need to let go but no one really tells you how to let go and move forward. Sure it's easy to say: "Just let go, move forward, forget about it, just let go." But that really doesn’t work. I’m about to show you how to let go and start moving forward.
Please click the button below to continue reading, and to learn how to let go and move forward in 2021!
