At the end of September, the Embassy of Grenada convened a Town Hall hosting The Honorable Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell for the local diaspora community. | |
As a dynamic leader with a forward-looking vision, Prime Minister Mitchell provided a comprehensive update on the relief and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Beryl this past July.
He emphasized the existential threat that climate change poses not only to Grenada but to the entire Caribbean, stressing that without decisive action, it could greatly impede the region’s growth and development. Prime Minister Mitchell also spoke about his government’s focus on improving education and healthcare, highlighting the importance of these sectors in fostering a sustainable future.
In discussing Grenada’s reconstruction, he reiterated the need to “Build Back Better,” ensuring resilience and preparedness for future challenges.

A Conversation with H.E. Khazar Ibrahim

His Excellency Khazar Ibrahim, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States joined us at WTCDC in mid-September, where much of the conversation centered around Azerbaijan's preparations to host COP29 in Baku later this year. Ambassador Ibrahim provided key insights into the nation's climate leadership, as well as its strategic position as a bridge between East and West and its evolving bilateral relationship with the U.S.
We were also pleased to hear from Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, who highlighted Azerbaijan’s investment in SMEs and their essential role in driving the country’s economic growth. It was an exciting and informative discussion, reflecting Azerbaijan’s focus on sustainability and innovation.

In mid-August, we were honored to host Her Excellency Catalina Crespo Sancho, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United States, for a WIPG Ambassador Reception. She shared valuable insights into Costa Rica’s global standing, highlighting its commitment to renewable energy, education, and advanced healthcare.
Ambassador Crespo-Sancho also emphasized how Costa Rica’s stability, skilled workforce, and quality of life attract major investors like Amazon and Johnson & Johnson. Her remarks on sustainability, democracy, and peaceful diplomacy offered a compelling perspective on Costa Rica's growth and its role on the global stage.
