Meet the 2021 WTCS Ambassadors!

Each of Wisconsin's 16 technical colleges have selected a student to participate in the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Ambassador program, a leadership development experience and recognition sponsored by Baird, which also provides an award and scholarships for the students. After a day of team-building and leadership development, the 2021 WTCS Ambassadors will be recognized during a YouTube Premiere event at 7 pm on Thursday, April 22. The students will be celebrated by family members, System and college leaders and other supporters. WCTC names Human Services Associate student Keva Estrada 2021 WTCS Ambassador As an adult student and working mother, the online Human Services Associate program was the perfect fit for Estrada’s busy lifestyle. “I thought that WCTC would be a great place to begin learning about counseling and help me build the skills needed throughout my academic career.… WCTC offers the flexibility of online classes that I need,” she said.  WCTC News

Nicolet names Lisa Hunt 2021 WTCS Ambassador “Nicolet has been absolutely amazing in helping me get to where I am today.” The same week she moved into a domestic abuse shelter, Hunt also enrolled at Nicolet. This spring she’ll graduate with a degree in Human Resources, Substance Use Disorder Counseling, and a Nursing Assistant technical diploma. In the fall she plans to enroll in Nicolet's Nursing program. Nicolet College Blog

District Boards Association recognizes media partners The Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association recognized WHBY with one of five 2021 Media Awards. FVTC nominated WHBY after the partners collaborated on a 12-part audio series called “Focus on Careers with FVTC.” Others recognized with awards were WBAY, NBC 26, WKOW and Ashland Daily Press.
